Apparently there’s a prio system connected to the tab targeting so the m+ macro is making its rounds into pvp now
Probably not a huge issue in competitive 3s but why does this even exist
TLDR priority tabs to players casting and kicks them. No focus or @arena
Frames are bad, ui and addons bricked, so blizzard made "tab” Priority target anyone casting. It doesnt differentiate between if they’re in range or not, the importance of the cast, or if its like a wild imp firebolting.
A macro isnt even needed either, you just press tab and kick.

Feel like I’m missing something, but it’s always been like this. If anything, targeting in M+ has gotten worse this expansion. While they still prioritize casting, it’s not always favoring closest mob first when you start tabbing from your primary target.
I have always tabbed to target for my primary target, though I do also use focus target kicks.
Should note, since lots of people don’t seem to know this, but you can set your tab to “target nearest enemy player” to avoid the noise of tabbing to totems and pets. I just make macros for the two targeting types and just swap them on my bar as needed.

Guess I’ve been ignorant towards them having a prio system in place on casts
this is nice for m+, but tbh in arena its just as easy to bind your arena 1/2/3 or focus targets. Relying on tab target kicks just seems bad
IIRC you can turn it off by just unbinding Tab and targeting via mouse click or carrier pigeon
ReTabBinder does that automatically in arenas/BGs.
It should be baseline game functionality but all talk of that improving was lies.

Interesting. Yea, seems like this should be a base function of the game. Crazy we don’t have just a simple way to select what things we want tab target to select. Player, Enemy, pet, totem, guardian, etc.
