Im just looking for some opinions on this. I have had keystone deserter for 6 days, since my group got disconnected twice tuesday night when realms were having issues. We all got it and still have it, even after completing multiple m+ dungeons. I believe this is an error as disconnecting should not trigger this in the first place. We reported on the bug forum and some of us did make tickets but were told there was nothing that can be done and that weekly restarts may solve the issue.
Just wanting to know if this has happened to anyone else before, and if its a known issue?
It sounds like they may be unable to help, which is why they’re saying to just wait until reset. I would post in the bug report forum (edit: which I notice you already did, ugh, sorry). Maybe if it’s reported by enough people the devs will clear it manually. I’m sorry that’s happening, that sucks.
So you know that others are impacted too and you know that you have done what you can - you reported what you think is a bug.

You might want to try the Discussion forum most related to your concerns. Just be aware, bugs get fixed by Devs in patches, or hotfixes, not on an individual basis.

Unfortunately, the system cannot differentiate between someone bailing from a key or a disconnect. All it sees is that a group was left, hence the debuff going out. Even if it could tell the difference - people would then be abusing it, just disconnecting themselves from the game to get around the debuff.
It’s one of those sad instances where we just can’t have nice things, even if the technology allowed for it.

A classical example is the comparisons between the current LFD, PVP and M+ leaver systems. Where one side keeps arguing “getting votekicked is not equal to deserter ergo you should not get debuffs” but then you get M+ where people after a failed abandon surrender would just AFK until you either do (A serious problem in the early dungeon days) or just collectively leave instead or the PVP system where any leaving results in -150 penalty.
Well it doesn’t hurt to ask so that’s why I posted . We all know you almost never get replies on the bug reports.
The bug report forum isn’t ameans to contact someone. Even then, what you’re looking for a general topic. What someone thing the cause of it isn’t something what the CS forum can help ith, much more so when no one here knows the coding or reason behind it. So, trying to fish for random pop-shot ideas won’t help in the long wrong.

Sorry I will ask in discussion forums. I love this game and I love these forums I just hate posting in the CS forum because every time I ever have ….I always know the answer will be “we can’t help you post somewhere else”. Which just isn’t helpful at all when you think about it.
This forum is more of a help desk where ur directed to the apropriate forum.

The biggest thing that folks don’t know is that this forum is unique in that no reports or feedback are collected from it. So posting here really doesn’t help most people unless they’re having issues maneuvering through the different systems where we can get folks pointed in the proper direction.
Every other forum though, those are the places where feedback and information is gathered. Just because there isn’t a Blue post doesn’t mean it’s being ignored. Our SFAs popping in regularly here, people seem to take that as a big flag to come here with everything and anything because our SFAs with the Blue text - in their limited capacities - help when and where they can.
Hopefully with reset tomorrow it’ll remove your debuff. If it doesn’t please do follow up and we can get you situated with the proper ticket path and what have you. Good luck!
