I have a cordless keyboard and mouse and there are random moments when one of them just suddenly decides to stop working for a few seconds, while I’m playing the game. I even tried changing the batteries, but that didn’t help. Am I the only one?
Edit: And I just realized that, by force of habit, I put this in GD when I should probably have put it in Technical Support.
Have you checked that the receiver dongles are connected and properly seated in the ports?
Cordless mice and keyboards aren’t good for gaming, due to the fact of there is no hardline connection only a wireless one which is much slower.
I would suggest to more reliable gear
Remember they communicate with the computer through a radio signal and thus are subject to interference. If you want the problem to go away you will have to use wired devices.
My computer is hard wired into my router / modem along with my peripheral devices so I don’t have to deal with radio interference with the wifi signals.
Get a wired keyboard and mouse. Much faster. Thank me later.

Pretty sure if you edit your post you can move it yourself.
Does your mouse have balls or is it optical ?
Does your PC detect a keyboard ?is it via Bluetooth or /n.w
If it’s a Razer mouse, it’s just the mouse. That’s just how Razer’s wireless works. If it’s not Razer, then update your laptop/motherboard firmware. I ran into a lot of issues with similar stuff until I updated the USB 3 firmware on my laptop.
The first thing you want to try is gaming closer to the dongles and see if that helps. Especially if you have both plugged into the back of the computer, that’s a lot of metal and air to get through before it gets to the mouse.
If you have a USB hub, preferably USB 3.1, try plugging the dongles into that, and then using the short cord to put the hub on top of your case. I have had issues like this and it’s usually just a placement issue.
Don’t listen to people saying wireless isn’t good enough for gaming. It’s not 2005, they are just fine.

Cordless keyboard and mouse have a delay, they need to send signal packets to your fob, then that has to break that signal down and then send it to Blizzard, then that need to be sent to your character in game.
Always use corded mouse and keyboard, unless you can get one that has super fast update time you will experience keyboard and mouse lag.
This is right from Rtings on my g602 mouse, which is quite old at this point:
“It feels responsive and its wireless click latency is low enough that you won’t notice any delay.”
The delay you get from a wireless mouse is insignificant with everything else going on, including monitor response, game and home internet latency. It’s a non factor.
Wireless mice generally have 2ms response time and humans can’t even detect latency that low.
He’s/She’s not even asking about this.
Sounds it to me! keyboard lag might be fine for you, but for the rest of us that play other fast paced games, wireless is not an option.
To much delay!
First of all, they are talking about the mouse not working for a period of seconds, obviously its a connection issue.
Second, you must have had a piece of junk wireless mouse lol. Google this for 5 seconds and you’ll debunk your own theory on this.
I wont debunk anything, I have had wireless inputs that were expensive and they were horrible. I am sorry your anecdotal experience prevents you from seeing mine.
Mouse and keyboard lag are real.

Razer Viper Ultimate begs to differ
The “lag” and “latency” is less than a human brain can detect. And if it exists, it’s masked by internet latency, game latency, and monitor response time.
You can keep repeating disproven theories all you want, doesn’t make it true.
Wired mice are “better” yes. And yet basically undetectably so.
These people won’t listen to you about the latency thing. They got an idea in their head that wireless peripherals were bad at some point and they’ll die thinking that. Sad!
Did you wake up looking to argue with someone? Everybody above said the same exact thing i did.
Move along, its lag!

LOL. If you tell this person it’s lag they are going to buy hundreds of dollars of new equipment. Considering it’s a connection issue, likely caused by the placement of the dongles, that’s really unnecessary.
He’s describing a connection drop, not a lag issue.
Your ignorance is bountiful, it is lag where it be input lag or internet latency, or packet loss. = LAG
Input Lag
Input lag is one of the main reasons most gamers choose a [wired mouse](ht tps://www.amazon.com/PC-Gaming-Mice/b?ie=UTF8&node=402052011) over their wireless counterpart. Wireless mice tend to be somewhat slower than wired models because they have to transmit the input using wireless transmission, which can cause lag at times. This type of lag can make the wireless mouse undesirable to many gamers. The wired mouse offers a more reliable performance with fewer delays compared to wireless models, which tends to make them the top choice for serious gamers.
The same reason most of us use a Cat 5 cable instead of Wifi, the difference is 50mbs compared to 300mbs!
