Keep the 120 camera FOV

If there was a poll, no one would vote against this. Even from an accessibility standpoint. 120fov simply feels 10000x better. They are crushing it with Dragonflight, imagine having 120fov and being able to do everything we do now. Anyone that got the opportunity to enable the 120fov knows how sad it was when they patched it. The game feels uncomfortable at 90 when coming from 120. Blizzard PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

This is actually false.

FoV is relative to monitor size and distance from the eyes. In 3D applications people prefer a FoV that mimics closely what they see - as if you were to walk between two pillars in the game world as the pillars crossed the horizontal boundary of the monitor its as if that same point would translate to real-world volumetric space relative to the camera’s position in the game world. Character position is irrelevant.

An offset FoV would make the objects appear closer/farther and distorted from where those objects would be placed in the real-world relative to your monitor/TV and cause motion sickness.

For TV applications (couch, large gap, TV) it is best at a lower FoV and while gaming on a monitor (arm’s length) the FoV is best set to higher due to size of screen and proximity of the end-user to the viewport of the monitor. This is why most PC players prefer a higher FoV, not just to see more of the game world in the rendered viewport thought that does have it’s advantages.

Topic: 90 FoV on PC sucks Blizz lmao.
