Keep getting disconnected in boss fights in delves

I have been in multiple delves on T11 and keep getting disconnected in the last boss fights. I relog in and I’m dead every time. This is costing me repair money and lives that I am not compensated for. This started with the patch yesterday.

First report I’ve seen of this, Rippler.

If this is consistent, I’d start with a proper reset UI.

With WoW totally shut down, rename, move or delete your WTF, Cache and Interface folders.

This may or may not help, but it’s always a good first trouble-shooting step.

Don’t reinstall anything till you test to see if it’s helpful. If it is, you’ll want to make sure any addons you use are updated, and test them one by one.

And reset all my addon settings that i’ve fixed over the year? i think not. every time i’ve done that in the past on your suggestions it does nothing to fix the problem.

If that’s an issue, just simply move or rename the folders instead of deleting them.

You can also try posting over in Technical Support to see if anyone can help. Be prepared to do some diagnostics and troubleshooting.

I did two tier 11 Delves yesterday and never had any disconnects.

What Rycerz said!

Do not delete the folders. Just rename them something like “FolderOld” and that will force the game to generate new clean ones with the default Folder name.

If it works then you know the issue is in the addons somewhere. If it does not work, you can just delete the newly created defaults, and change the names back. I would also make a backup copy of your folders just in case you somehow make a mistake in your testing.

That way you can put them right back if the testing does not help.

Fingers crossed! It certainly is one way to rule out a common cause right away.

A few more things you can try, or consider:

  • Graphics settings and driver updates. Sometimes new driver updates break things, sometimes new patches do etc. Check if there are known issues in the graphics community with your card, drivers, or settings you use for WoW. Sometimes turning down graphics settings can help. Sometimes updating drivers, or even rolling them back can help.
  • Local hardware in the house. Make sure you don’t have issues with your home networking devices, traffic, etc.

There WERE some known issues with delve skills causing bugs at the start of Season 2, but those were fixed I thought. That said, there may be some Bran skills/player skills that don’t work nicely together. That would def be a bug if that is what it turns out to be. You can get around it usually by selecting a diff Bran skill.

Im lucky and on a Mac with Fiber. That should narrow it down. Its just frustrating with all the bugs that are now getting shipped in the game patches. I know its not your fault and in a bad position thanks to Microsoft.

Oh, oh no. Best of luck on that. Blizzard has very very little support left for Macs on any of their games. I get the impression it is like one guy trying to do all the things for all the games and teetering under a mess of broken issues.

On the good side, I don’t see a lot of DC errors on the Mac TS forum. Keep in mind that is other players talking. There are no blues in Tech Support anymore for Blizzard.

MVPs are just other players who do info desk type stuff :). So yeah, I most certainly don’t think I am at fault. I can’t think disconnecting thoughts in your direction! I promise.

They stop Mac support I stop WoW completely. I can always go back to Eve Online. They love my money. lol

You can always run the parallels emulator if you need a windows environment on a Mac

i’ve tried that before. even with 32GB of ram its laggy with games. production apps its fine.

Was that on intel based mac or M series?

VM being laggy isn’t usually a ram capacity issue.

If it’s an M series mac emulating x86 windows, it’s going to lag

Unfortunately your symptoms point towards an issue with your client. Hopefully resetting the UI fixes your problem. I looked at the Mac TS Forum, and there isn’t anyone else which appears to have the same problem you have, which further indicates it’s a localized issue. Typically when there is an actual software bug, you should see a large number of people impacted, which we are not seeing here.

If the UI reset doesn’t fix your issue, your best option is to open a ticket, and create a forum post on the Mac TS Forum (link in a previous post above), be very specific about the problem, as well as provide clear details about how to duplicate it, just saying you have a Mac is likely to provide nothing that allows them to duplicate your issue. If QA looks at it, unless they can duplicate the problem, they won’t dedicate any time to it, which I suspect will be the case. This is why lots of reports with clear steps to duplicate the problem are often needed.

Last;ly, don’t ignore things like resetting your UI, as it will likely be an issue like that that fixes you issue. While you won’t hear from Blizzard Devs/QA unless they have questions, you will potentially get advice from users, listen to that as that is your best option for fixing your issue.
