Kaldorei Worgen as an Allied Race

No, I am not talking about Blizzard just giving us current Night Elves that turn into our current Worgen…

  • Tyrande and Genn are pissed about Sylvanas getting away, now is a perfect time for them to look for allies to hunt her down, why not pull the remaining Kaldorei Worgen from the Emerald Dream? This makes more sense from a narrative perspective than adding something like Sethrak.

  • I am almost positive that the Kaldorei Worgen are trapped in a part of the Emerald Dream that was affected by the Nightmare, I could be wrong and someone may correct me, but if they are then that could potentially affect them and their appearance. And as we see in 8.3 it seems we are ridding Azeroth of the Old Gods so maybe that means the Nightmare will be gone, but it will still leave a lasting affect on the Kaldorei Worgen considering they have been trapped in there for thousands of years!

Also Blizzard could easily change their appearance to be more feral looking, in the Curse of the Worgen comic we see Ralaar Fangfire after he has been using the Pack Druid Form and it seems to have changed him to look more beastial when he returns to his Night Elven form. Blizzard could expand on this.

Blizzard could give them a more feral and savage looking Night Elven form, and then what if being in the Emerald Dream for thousands of years has affected their appearance? Especially if they were in a section affected by the Nightmare. Maybe they have certain markings on their body?

I don’t know just a thought I had. I think it would be cool to see Kaldorei Worgen added.

I would kill to have original worgen as an allied race.

Well… the Horde are going to get an allied race based on the worgen model. It’s like them and undead are the only ones left. So, who knows.

Why would the Horde get an Allied Race based on the Worgen model and not the Alliance?

Like you said Worgen and Forsaken are the only ones left, and with the way things are looking in 8.3 it looks like Calia is joining up with the Forsaken so chances are Lightforged Undead are coming to the Horde.

Calia will flounce off back to the Alliance and take some of the undead with her. Not sure if they’ll be lightforged but they’ll have to look a bit different somehow. I can’t see Horde getting more undead. So, Alliance will get some version of undead and Horde will get something based on the worgen model.

You gotta remember that the original Worgen form was extremely hard to control and would drive the user insane and has result its usage was banned.

Hell even the Worgens (ours) have admitted that they often have to deal with a strong sense of anger which is the main reason they cant be monks since they cant find inner peace

I think that would be great, OP. And I’d rather Lightforged Undead for the Horde. (If these are the two options for skeletons to use with the last AR.)

This is true of the Pack Form, but that was mutated into the Worgen form when the Scythe of Elune was used on Ralaar Fangfire. Granted he still felt a lot of rage and was seething with bloodlust… hence why he and those he bit began biting other Night Elves.

However, once he is freed, along with some of the other Kaldorei Worgen, he seems to show some semblance of humanity and control as he orchestrated the entire attack on Gilneas. So they are aren’t total mindless beasts.

It is possible that once they are brought from the Emerald Dream to Azeroth they undergo a similar ritual the Gilneans did to help calm them. I mean we see Vassandra who was in Gilneas helping them in Duskwood now helping those Worgen.

I got my fingers crossed for undead worgen. Like, what happens when a human who can turn into a worgen is raised undead? I’m sure it would be lore breaking and I’ve seen no evidence they’d do this, but like, bony, zombie worgen would look pretty cool.

But there’s other stuff based on the worgen model like saberon and saurok and stuff, but none really are part of the game much right now. So, no idea what the worgen based allied race will be.

If im not mistaken the Worgen Curse makes you resistant to the Undead Curse, making extremely hard to get revived if not impossible

It does. This is why the Hillsbrad refugees in Silverpine Forest drink Darius Crowley’s blood, it turns them into Worgen so they could not be raised by Sylvanas as Forsaken.

As far as we are aware the only way Worgen can be raised as Undead is if someone with very strong necromancy magic does it, aka the Lich King.

Maybe they’re raised as undead in Darkshore where Elune has gone all dark and weird. I dunno. Probably not undead worgen but they would look cool.

I have been thinking about this recently but have been pushing it to the back of my mind because I really want to see Sethrak using the Worgen Skeleton since they are already based off it…

Night Elf Worgen would be cool though and I can see a Sylvanas/Malfurion, in the deep end, bolstering their forces with Nelf Worgens against Sylvanas… Especially after seeing their companions raised into Forsaken, probably don’t want to see that again…

Personally, I would be both bummed and excited. Bummed at the missed opportunity of Sethrak for Alliance but at the same time I think Nelf Worgen could be really cool. I have seen some pretty sick fan art for them.

Id love the idea of their “Elf” forms looking pretty rugged and rough, that would be cool. Kinda like in the comic you linked.

So, on one hand I would be super down to see it as I feel it could be pretty cool. There was actually another piece of Night Elf Worgen Fan Art I remember seeing where the fur was purple and had a lot of Night Elf features but I have not seen it in ages.

That’s perfect! I love that.

However I think Blizzard would still change the Worgen form a bit more to make them less like the current ones Gilneans have. Maybe make them taller, thinner, more fur, and then maybe have some of those features in that picture as well.

I’m fine with them being added but just don’t give them the option to switch to their night elven form. There’s no scythe of Elune to help them.

Just realized it’s really not good to add another night elf variations to the game seeing that some people want playable Dark Wardens and Night Elf Worgens.

It’s taking away what’s left of Kal’dorei identity after they’ve lost so much

If Xal’atath can be restored then so can the Scyth of Elune if the White Lady wills it.

Shhhh don’t give Blizzard any ideas. You know they can’t resist taking another smack at their favorite punching bag.

Why can’t we just turn into Piss Ant’s for a new race instead?? Sounds way cooler than an Elf
