I think Kael being a major character in Shadowlands could be interesting - the problem I see is that these folks start dead and have to end dead. Thereâs no place for them to go. Their stories begin this expansion already over. The story and quests theyâre involved in will only work as epilogues for their characters.
If their stories somehow continue: IE, they âescapeâ the Shadowlands and regain a form of life, or they have continued relevance in the real world (IE: Azeroth) going onward⊠then the entire universe just collapses because Death itself will effectively have no meaning.
Blizzard have finally done it, theyâve killed so many important Horde characters theyâre forced to dig some up from the grave just to make numbers.

Iâd imagine heâs not going to be a vililain. The fact that heâs in Revendreth shows he has the potential to be âredeemedâ. If he was unredeemable heâd be in The Maw.
And if Beetlejuice taught me anything. There is absolutely death for the dead.

His fight in the raid is us trying to save him, so I think itâs unlikely heâs going to really be a villain.
Was kinda trying to avoid the actual spoiler but eh I can see them going the Wrathion route where heâs a fight just for giggles when itâs not really him.
Not just him. Vashj is back. Now all we need is Anubâarak and weâll have the Unholy Trinity of characters from WC3 Blizzard screwed over with terrible writing.

Blood Elves are too connected with Sylvanas. Even having her retcon where sheâs the reason weâre called Blood Elves. We could use a bit of Kaelâthas to remind us how we should be.
The problem Iâm seeing is if characters themselves from the Shadowlands, who got there the normal way (IE: death), have continued relevence beyond this expansion. They can have stories/redemption archs within the Expac itself thatâll work as nice epilogues for them⊠but theyâre still dead and they donât get to come back to the real world once this is over. Unless, of course, Blizzard basically destroys their own universe, effectively making death âmerely a setbackâ for anyone whoâs ever died.
