So you are saying WCL is flawed? Then why do you care about it at all? They are parsing combat logs, how are they flawed? Other than a little bit of RNG to deal with on big hits and grave tidewalker is easier than fathom lord.
Well the people had their fun with pre-nerfed content, it’s the Holidays now you get to relax. More to life than a 16 year old game that people are sour about because other players get to get some gear.
It sets a precedent for them nerfing content into the dirt because enough people complain about it. They also went about it in the worst way; giving no indication of when P3 was releasing.
You guys knew nerfs were coming, they said so. They wanted people to get some time in to kill the bosses before phase 3. We know phase 3 is coming soon. We only got the harder bosses because enough people asked, now Blizzard thinks it’s time for a nerf.
That’s fine to me, I been 10/10 for months. Blowing up some bosses for easy loot before phase 3 sounds great to me. Also nice seeing people go 10/10 even if now it’s nerfed. They listened to both sides here, we had our unnerfed fun already.
Go run some heroics, pvp or work on rep or finish old quests or hell take a break, I don’t care, lot’s to do.
You assume they only know what you know about what is going on with their game. They have all the numbers and this was the decision they made. They feel this is the best business decision. They know more than you.
Having three months of the hardest content in the game is the same exact thing as one month of nerfed content which is the equivalent of just handing out P2 bis. Right, you need to get a different hobby because the level of self worth you tie into this is actually concerning.
After seeing how badly they handled Classic, and knowing that the number of people on their staff that actually played Vanilla is closer to 0 than 100%, I don’t think I agree.
Yea, “we” knew that they were nerfing parts of Kael, Vashj, and Morogrim. What we didn’t know is that they rescinded that and decided to nerf both raids to their final state that was patched in SWP.
The same people that are crying about SSC and TK are going to cry about BT and Hyjal; why cater to the people that objectively spend the least amount of time playing your product?
They may nerf the trash or whatever before phase 4 but it won’t be for a long time which is fine by me, they can nerf content a month before the next phase so these other players can enjoy themselves. It doesn’t hurt me or my fun or my progression as a player because I’ll be someone that has success before pre-nerf.
You see, I know this game doesn’t revolve around my sole desires and for some of these players they won’t see the content unless it’s nerfed. To me that’s fine, other players should get to enjoy themselves too.
It’s removing the value of the content for a large portion of your playerbase, to appease people that cannot be pleased as long as content isn’t clearable for them.
Nerfing content is admitting it was too difficult; given the number of guilds that were clearing the content, there was nothing difficult about it.
Only Blizzard has the data that will help them stop players from quitting and keeping their subs. They will make the decision that makes them the most money every time. Even though I don’t like it, I’d put my money on what Blizzard thinks is “saving the game” 7/10 times. If they nerf the content to this degree, despite telling us otherwise, there’s probably a good reason for it.
Nerfing it like this is probably better for business and what most people want. It sucks, but it’s probably something I’d do also. At least making it super easy will ease the bleeding short term.
