Not criticizing you here as you probably enjoy the questlines, or now in SL the threads of fate option, but I got like 70 level 50s and I put forth VERY, VERY little effort doing it. It is more so about the right time and place.
I leveled like 25 toons from 1-100 pre Legion launch with those invasions (2 weeks).
In legion, I leveled probably 10 DHs and 10 DKs through the Legion invasion system, the ones that released the second year of the expansion (About 2 weeks again).
In BfA, I leveled about another 25 toons through Korrak’s Revenge, to include gaining about 41 honor levels from all my previous toons being leveled to max that way (the other 45 toons) and utilizing the one-time quests for 1,000 honor (three weeks).
I guess my reasoning for mentioning this is because most players don’t have alts, let alone the desire to level 40 through questing, which even with threads of fate is the same thing - world quests, sides quests, and objectives, which are the same as world quests.
As one character playing through the game, you don’t have alts to distract you or hold you off until the appropriate fixes are made, or if they fix what you think should be fixed at all. I understand the frustration from Torswan, wanting to play their class they love but always feel defeated because of balancing issues (again, not saying there are issues because I am not a developer, but showing how both sides are justifiable). I have felt this way and sometimes still feel this way because I love Frost DK and Assassination Rogue over all, despite how weak or strong they are.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the sole reason they quit.
More than likely, it was the final straw. The watershed moment.
I love this game, have played since late beta and have generally had multiple accounts active in that 17 years. So while I want to defend the game and admittedly have no plans to cancel, these last 2 expansions have left me wanting.
I really think Ion’s “elitist jerk” mentality of serving the edge/fringe tier of gamer has hurt the game and new direction is required.
I could list literally dozens of examples but most of you already know them. The game’s devs seem to actively seek out anything that is fun and then nerf/remove it.
The game is FAR from alt friendly and the current state seems to have been catered to Ion’s personal playstyle with a seriously myopic view of the other “99%” want or enjoy in the game.
At this point, I think I secretly hope that the numbers fall enough that the suits will find someone with a more broad vision for the game.

Yeah, Ion sucks. I don’t think he’s a bad guy, but he certainly isn’t good at running World of Warcraft. So many bad decisions …

5 accounts unsubbed here today, after i saw increased anima for Mythic+ and raiders, and still nothing for PVE havent even fixed scaling for old content.
Casual play, Dont run dungeons or Raid.
Only have so many accounts, because I was hunting for a pattern.
SL is a chorefest and no fun I know raiders and Mythic + are angry about loot but the game is still designed to please them.

Regarding Ion… let me just put it this way
If Ion were a big RP or Transmog guy and a “filthy casual” do you think we would have housing, guild halls and a fix for the current old content scaling disaster?
If Ion were a big PVP player do you think we would have better/more PvP BG content? Do you think we would have tier sets? Do you think he “might” have already fixed Wintergrasp?
I think we all know the answer…

Last expac I completed a timewalking quest for the chest seconds before it was removed from my log, according to the response i got “15 seconds before the quest was removed from your log” which is by the way 3 HOURS BEFORE THE WEEKLY RESET I found out.
The support refused to give me my chest with a random NORMAL teir raid item in it due to “policy”. Thats when I stopped playing last expac.
