Just resubbed and server is EMPTY - classic

Just resubbed after a hiatus and my server had a total of 11 players on last night during peak Friday hours and they were all bots.

Any chance of getting my characters transferred elsewhere because of this? Or at least refund my subscription being you can’t exactly clear 40 man content with only 11 people on server during peak hours

Free transfers only ever happen from high population/over populated servers to lower population servers. The only way they would ever offer free transfers off of a dead server is if they planned to close it.

Free transfers are usually only offered if there is a large queue to log into the server. In your case that is not likely to happen.

My assumption would be that a lot of folks are playing retail right now, because Shadowlands just launched. The numbers will probably even out over time.

nope dead server for almost a year according to ironfroge pro data

Your only option really would be the paid Character Transfer.

That said, if you would like to see if you qualify for a refund, you can utilize the rufen system here:

I’ve already attempted a refund. I’ve resubbed twice to check population over the last 7 months. However, once you log into the game they tell you that you are no eligible for a refund and they keep your $15 because you logged into a game for 15 seconds to realize only 11 people are still on your server.

Straight up theft.

Third-party websites do no have accurate realm population data. That one gets their data from another third-party website.

Population of active raiders according to WarcraftLogs

While this info could be helpful to decide transfers, keep in mind this does not include non-raiding or non-logging characters

It is likely that most players are currently playing retail, or are playing other characters on other realms.

You can make an alt on another realm to see it’s activity during your preferred play time because third-party websites don’t really give that information. Do this before transferring your high-level character or characters.

You knew this after the first time. If you are still paying at that point it’s on you and not Blizzard. If you believe the third-party’s website about population and activity, why did you pay for game-time.

It isn’t. You paid for access to the servers. You got that. No where does it say that it is to pay for a certain level of active players on your preferred realm. For the most part, all digital sales are final. Blizzard did not steal your money.
