Faction transfer won’t impact anything to badly.
If you go to merc mode the ally/horde ratio will get really bad on pvp servers.

Show me direct third part independently verfiable evidence that Merc Mode will affect negatively affect alliance players when they go and and farm, or do 5 mans or raid?

Merc mode was introduced in Retail when it was overwhelmingly apparent nobody wanted to play alliance.
When you remove incentive/perks of the minority faction - the outcome will be people no longer playing that faction. This doesn’t require third party verified evidence just because you’re stuck in some delusion over your character efficacy less than 3 weeks into a new expansions launch.

I think everyone can agree the current honor gains are absolute garbage and do nothing but dissuade people from even playing. In the case of alliance, this just hurts horde players even more.
Spending 25 minutes getting beaten down in an EOTS for 200 tells the average alliance player to not bother. Why do that when you can go pug Karazahn because its a joke?
