o boy the salt will flow that day lol

As a Non-Epic Spectral Tiger mount owner. By all means I’d love to see more of them running around! I got mine back in Cata when I got lucky with a Landro’s Loot Box card. I’d love for others to be able to obtain the things they want even if its for free. There is literally no loss to me if there are more out there.

Cheers to future Spectral Tiger owners! :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Someone translate please?

i like how almost every post in this thread is just people dunking on this guy, i love my feldrake btw

I learned that it’s always important to point before laughing.

So you’re mad that you spent who knows how much RL cash on the cards? Well, sorry for your loss I guess.

Yep pretty much …

I agree it was a risky move by hoarders to get tiger cubs and not sell them cheap enough to get rid of them quickly, because as soon as the feldrake episode happened several people were speculating there’d be more giveaways, so in a way it’s no longer THAT much of a surprise, and people should be careful to not buy this kind of stuff at too high price, so if a giveaway comes they can still get away without losing money or not many.

On the price though, 1 mil has never been a realistic sale price, on either region, we’re talking 600k or so if you wanted to sell them fairly often; the only people who had realistic sale chances at 1 mil were those that put 1 on each realm of a whole region, and even then, I asked to one of them and he said sales were very rare, and obviously if someone put one at 600k it wouldn’t work.

Or actually, perhaps 1 mil was a more realistic sale price in legion, what I mean is it was not that realistic already when the feldrake news became known.

Even so, I don’t know how much the OP paid, but if he wanted to sell them (didn’t seem like it from what he said) there was plenty of time to do so successfully, and actually even now with trading post, if you try on the right realms, it’s possible to get a fair price, and depending on the amount you paid, recover all the gold spent, or even make profit.

As far as I read (I read all the thread but it’s been a while ago) he bought them inbetween january and last month, I think he was planning on actually keeping 3, you know, you can pet battle with 3 of the same pet if you want.

Obviously with the dragon kite and bananas precedent, a risky choice, because blizzard proved in 2019 and in 2022 that they can give away tcg pets that appear on BMAH, in fact so far they ONLY gave away tcg pets that appear in BMAH, and not those that don’t, like sand scarab, landro’s lil xt, landro’s lichling, nightsaber etc.

They’re still worth 500k, doesn’t seem that little!

Finally someone who actually tried to sell stuff post giveaways! Indeed, I also managed to sell plenty for decent prices (plenty to make profit in eu, 165k) for months after the giveaway, it’s only now that it’s been over 6 months that kites are going down; tiger cubs are still doing really well, with plenty of 500k sales.

Mmmmm, since when is a certain amount of hours farming equivalent to RL money?

I specifically said a certain amount of hours farming and the OP also spent gold, not real life money, so you read what you want to read I guess.

And again, the point is: people who bought these things in 2015 for gold shouldn’t have because they should’ve had the crystal ball to know in 2022 they’d be given away?

Yea, people are playing the sky is falling, when these giveaways didn’t add any more pets into the tradeable pet economy.

The pets from these giveaways and trading post can’t be caged - so there’s still a finite amount that can be traded and sold.

I got the Dragon Kite from Twitch, caged my TCG one and sold it for 200k cause I didn’t need two.

Indeed, bananas’ value back in 2019 completely crashed and it’s still no more than a few k now exactly because it was made tradeable, the given away version, but since the dragon kite they made sure to make another ID for the ones that come from giveaways or from trading post, which keeps value more reasonable, at the time with dragon kite it was a wake-up call for some people because there were plenty desperate to sell them for 50k the day before giveaway, then as soon as they found out they were bop, they were selling more easily than ever for 150-200k.

I think for half a year the tiger cub should continue to hold some decent value, then will probably drop slowly over time like the dragon kite is doing now.

In the meantime we can also get really cheap tiger cubs because of the “giveaway”, 100-200k or so, especially in BMAH and have plenty of margin.

Damn, for one who said to be a nice person earlier in the thread in a few comments, it just seems you’re pretty happy about people being sad the items they put a lot of effort in are being devalued.

Thankfully, it’s not gonna happen according to ion himself: https://www.wowhead.com/news/swift-spectral-tiger-unlikely-to-return-via-game-promotions-332624

I’m aware other people here supported the tiger comment, but those people didn’t make any comments pretending to be nice, so I’m not surprised about them, and I know plenty of people would like the tiger to be given away not cause they like it, but just to ruin others, that’s the wow community nowadays.

Whether they do it or not it’s just pixels, people make a big deal out of nonissues lately in this game and it’s cringe so in my book if everyone has a tiger or not isn’t gonna bother me and realistically it shouldn’t bother anyone else but here we are.

Again and as I’ve said in previous comments I have certain unique items most people don’t have and I’m okay with if they are added back so others can get them so if that makes me not nice then I’ll take being not nice.
