Guess who has 3 spectral tiger cubs? Guess what they are worth now thanks to Blizzard making them a trading post item? Honestly the policy of making every rare item available through the trading post will simply make everything a common item. There will be no “rare” items anymore. Why would anyone want to keep, buy or collect rare and expensive items anymore because the next month they can just become common and worthless?

And what would that be? Never buy anything rare or expensive because blizzard can simply screw you in the rear end in a few days notice? These pets weren’t impossible to get almost every AH had a few for a reasonable price, now people are panic selling them in just about every realm.

Sure if you want to be an internet warrior and go down that road, blizzard owns everything in their game so they can do whatever they please in it. It still doesn’t mean it wasn’t a crappy move for everyone that has legit bought them recently.

Why would Blizzard care about the secondary market of a dead TCG? WotC doesn’t give a crap about the secondary market of a TCG still in print today.

If you read my post again with some thought I’ve already stated the very same thing: never buy anything expensive or rare, because at any time the trade post can make them worthless and common. Lesson has been learned, still doesn’t make it taste any less bitter.

I don’t have the TCG mount from Prime nor the cub in the trading post. I do have some TCG mounts that I bought with gold back in the day (Cata or Lich King, I forget exactly when).
I came back to the game a month ago after quitting in 2021. I find out the big battle bear and blazing hippogryph are now common due to giveaways
Part of the fun of having an account this long was collecting rares for me but I guess you’re lesson is a good one. Why bother farming mounts or farming gold to get mounts like I have these 19 years when now it can just end up being given away.

You’re almost funny, but miss the point. This isn’t just specifically about TCG or speculation but rather about rare items retaining or loosing their value and rarity. There is literally no need for it even, they could just release a slightly modified version of the rare items rather than the same one. That way people could get their cool thing but it wouldn’t screw over the ppl who have worked hard to farm or buy something rare.
