Just lost a fortune thanks to trading post

I mean, lets put this entire thread into a better term:

How long does people think World of Warcraft will last? The subs are still declining, Shadowlands left a bad taste, the devs have been making bad decissions in terms of the content, and the community gets pretty toxic.

It is a computer game. As Naughtymoon as said it, pixels on a screen.

He obviously won’t lose the spectral tiger cubs he had but the gold will have been lost (most of it), I mean, he’d have been better off and could’ve used that gold for other stuff if the tiger cub news had been sent in advance at least, he wouldn’t have bought them ofc.

I’m not sure, I keep thinking it won’t last long any more, but it always does, people have been saying wow is dead since 2010 or so, it’s now lasted another 13 years already, so 2030 wouldn’t surprise me.

It was their choice to purchase it from the AH. Not my problem. Not Blizzards problem. Nobody forced them to purchase it from the AH. It was by their choice.

Let’s say someone wanted a spectral tiger cub a year ago.

What options did they have apart from buying it on BMAH, AH or real money?

Are you saying just don’t buy stuff at all?

I’d say they had it for a whole year to enjoy it before others got it in masses from the trading post so again a nonissue.

Let me introduce to you…the Pyramid of Investment Risk. This is Econ 101 material.

Note the top of the pyramid, with “Collectibles”.

And boes at the bottom, can’t think of blizzard giving away current boe raid gear!

No, I am saying don’t come to the forums that Blizzard is changing items in their own game.

Some of those Blizzcon pets are pretty strong battlers too.

I have the Murloc Costume toy, the Baby Blizzard Bear, and the Big Blizzard Bear from Blizzcons.

I’d be fine if they were in the trading post. I got to have them for years and years before anyone else did. More people having things is a win in my book.

Those are all cool items and grats!

I think it actually helps the player base to be more inclusive.

i’m so sorry that your attempt to cash in on FOMO isn’t going well for this next month.

Your fault for still holding onto em for this long lol

Yes, that sucks, also lost my stuff in noirgame before coming to wow, was an italian only spaceship strategy game very similar to ogame, which also has an english version and is still around now, I had only played for 10 months or so before it shut down and was pretty annoyed, but you can imagine the riot from people who had been playing since launch (it only lasted 3 years or so).

Honestly from what I saw, even if it hadn’t been for the trading post, the spectral tiger cub value wasn’t gonna ever increase, it peaked in legion, went down in bfa, recovered in DF, but was pretty stable. And as you should know, supply wasn’t really unlimited, a lot spawned on BMAH.

Yep.

As an off and on eve player…if one rides out price bubbles for max effect and/or estimated worth there is a downside.

One little change out the blue…pops that bubble. Money made at say 75% bubble is better than…the soon 0% bubble lol. Sometimes it wise to jsut take that 75%. Hell even 50%. Still better than 0%.

Think they were going for 25-30k early wod! If someone had bought 100 and sold them in legion, they would’ve probably made 90 mil from that alone, 60 mil even in DF until now.

I’m saying just 100 cause it was a reasonable amount, by buying 1000 they could’ve made almost a billion, but having 25-30 mil early on in wod means you were already a top gold maker, not many could’ve done that.
