Just lost a fortune thanks to trading post

Maybe because you like them instead of just wanting to flex pixels?

Totally not RMTing here, are we?

Who collects those in hopes of price appreciation?

I want corrupted ashbringer on the trading post, not because I think it should actually be re-released, but because Iā€™m genuinely tired of these ā€œbut muh pixels!ā€ people.

tear down the walls of exclusivity just to watch them squirm!

Iā€™m not actually Iā€™ve never done it and never would, I just like collecting rare thingsā€¦ or rather liked now Iā€™m not so sure anymore. I despise RMT, multiboxers and botters to the core so.

then you wouldnā€™t care so much about value. Things fluctuate all the time instead playing WOW like a stock market.

(Which was rather helpful for a crypto game.)

Feldrake given away shouldā€™ve been your signal to sell.

Yet you started a thread to complain about gold lost?

Me not mathing so good

And Iā€™m fine with removing exclusivity when the item in question is actually truly ā€œimpossibleā€ to get. This item however is not impossible to get, it just took some effort and few click on the AH. Not very exclusive in my books.

Good question. Why would anyone want to do that?

third party acquisitions do not count as official ways. TCG is out of print.

I do believe just about every auction house had this item available for you to buy, itā€™d just require some effort which some were willing to see and some were not. Ofc now all my effort has been wasted so Iā€™m indeed the fool.

Why didnā€™t you sell when Blizz gave Feldrake away?

Also on AH doesnā€™t count as an official way to acquire it.

On the whole ā€œrarityā€ issue, WoW is an MMO. All they owe anyone is a playable game. The idea of mount collecting, and rare item collecting is a side thing that people are playing inside of the game. And clearly Blizzard made the decision that players who are playing the game, and might like cute or cool things, are more important than investors waiting to sell in-game items theyā€™ve been hoarding for years.

Iā€™ve got a few obscure things just because Iā€™ve been playing a while. Will I be a little disappointed if they make the Winterspring Frostsaber available for people? A tiny bit, because it was a 3-week quest line to get, but if they bring it back now, maybe theyā€™ll upgrade the model so it looks more modern. So no, not really.

Because they donā€™t have the chops to earn actual prestige rewards, so they want to buy them. Duh.

probably holding on to a spectral cub tcg card in hope that the price will keep going up and up and up. Now itā€™s worthless because we can now get it from tavern

Iā€™m pretty fortunate in that i thought this was coming for a long time so i have been slowly offloading all of my expensive pet spares, luckily i had just one of each TCG left for my own collection and iā€™ll sell them for whatever theyā€™re worth as they are replaced with the freebie versions that canā€™t be caged lol

Just put all of your TCG cards in the same box youā€™re keeping your Beanie Babies in.

I spent a few dollars back in my early playing days buying cards in the hope of getting something nice. I actually got a card with the code for the cub but ruined it in the process of trying to reveal the code and lost the cub. This taught me one thing: donā€™t spend my damned money on bits of cardboard for a bunch of pixels.

People who had the money to splash out on hideously overpriced TCG items and then flaunt them ingame made my teeth ache. Nobody should have access to items for use in the game based on their ability to outlay a lot of money. If I pay for the game and my sub that should be the only criteria for having such things. And sure, there are mounts and pets that come out in the game shop, but I could still buy those by earning ingame gold to put onto my bnet account and get them (indirectly) by playing the game.

I know I should feel sympathy for your loss. What can I say but in this instance Iā€™m a sinner, because I really donā€™t. Your intent was to profit. Sometime such things work and sometimes they donā€™t and there was never any guarantee that all the TCG items would stay unavailable - they started putting them into the game in 2021 with Bananas, along with various other ones going onto the Black Market AH and that should have been a sign.

they started down this road years ago - if you were playing in WoD when they made all the collection efforts for scribes useless when they removed glyphs then and didnā€™t say anything then you contributed to this.

Theyā€™ve just made scribes useless in general at this point which sucks cause my Prevoker is a Scribe :dracthyr_cry_animated:
