Just leave pug runs if your gear doesnt drop

high five!

Congratulations you have just identified what’s wrong with sod. It’s not the loot system.

THERE WE GO, IT WAS NEVER THE LOOT SYSTEM!!!

So if you agree then why cry about trying a non swiper way to gear? Or you just need to be listened to?

Guessing we are stage 3 and watching the anger/bargaining happen now.

Considering people are free to leave runs right now it hardly changes anything. Oh no the tanks shield didn’t drop in SFK guess we watch him leave and 4 man it or reset.

What else will I do but finish the run without them and possibly put them on ignore.

I raid with guild so it doesn’t matter, 5 mans maybe a bit but still do many of those with guild so I don’t really feel anything but amusement reading the main post and thinking about the robot chicken giraffe going through the stages of grief.

Yeah its pretty clear you are not the target audience of these changes.
When we’re discussing people leaving SR runs we are calling back on experience from just a few years ago in 25/40 man raids where this was very common. Guild runs and 5 mans need not apply.

because as you said, its not the loot system.

WAYYYY more RMT happens in traditional guilds through actively buying consumables to be able to Kill a boss in a raid.
Then ontop of that, you can still buy gear from the person that won the roll.
You think i wouldnt shell out 100k to someone that won DFT?

Sadly the people wanting a LFR experience that holds any merit will be long gone before it comes around. Something along the lines of how bad the average player actually is, and the devs wanted LFR to be foolproof, so when you put that mix together… you get LFR from retail xD

Your right as I have never bought gold and don’t particularly like hanging around people who RMT. The change targets them largely and puts the fire a little bit under their feet. This also affects people selling gear from 5 mans like SFK and WC stealth runs. Could also fall into a grey area with level boosting as it could be considered selling gear if anything that drops is given to the boostie.

Understandable; I see HR and SR quite often in LFG and it doesn’t really bother me if people want to join groups to gear that way.

This absolutely effects how certain “services”, lets call them, that people are selling right now. Boosting can be seen as a grey area and its probably next. Selling gear of any kind for gold in 5 mans or raids is punishable come phase 2. I imagine there will be certain methods people might use to get around it but lets be frank.

IF YOU ARE A PERSON CLAIMING TO HAVE NO TIME FOR GUILDS BECAUSE OF WORK OR OTHER RL COMMITMENTS ARE YOU REALLY GONNA SKIRT AROUND THE ISSUE BY HAVING TO FARM FOR BLACK LOTUS OR WHATEVER CRAP EXCUSE YOU CAN COME UP WITH.

Of course not, GDKP was easy gold with low time spent acquiring and much of it is gotten through RMT. That is why everyone talking it up big on the forums can’t be trusted to actually commit to what they say. It was EASY MONEY which is now gonna be gone for just SoD.

Stages of grief is all I see, right now this post reeks of anger and bargaining.

Go for it.

Of course, your chat ban will be over before Blizz gets around to reviewing it.

Well these leveling raids aren’t hard content, so it’s shouldn’t be a problem.

Truuuuuuuuuuuuu

Same here, if you have read any of my other comments here you would know that I do not RMT or engage in botting for that matter, I don’t kick puppies or burn down orphanages either. The automatic accusation that anyone who participates in GDKP is also a gold buyer is so stupid it makes me assume that you are very ignorant on the topic or you’re responding in bad faith. Which one? As you can tell I am out of patience with these kinds of comments.

Yes, it is explicitly going to be against TOS as of 8th feb.

This is ambiguous currently, only items in exchange for gold are mentioned.

I think you’re just not reading the previous discussion, which is understandable as there has been a lot of points.
The raised issue with SR runs, when offered as ‘the obvious replacement for GDKP’ is that people will often just leave the group, suddenly have a “power outage” or at best mentally check out and play at 20% effort when the only item they SR’d doesn’t drop, or they lose the roll on it.
They may need items from future bosses, but they will be SRd by other people, meaning it is absolutely guaranteed that you will get literally no reward for finishing the raid (unlike GDKP).

I make money by playing the game and will continue to do so, this isn’t the problem.
My issue is that my preferred way of obtaining the gear that I want and spending my time in PUGs is being removed. My player agency is being restricted.

Any other baseless assumptions and accusations need not apply to this discussion.

It’s wild to me that people just come out and tell everyone “I am a sociopath.”

I’ve never bothered with a blacklist addon before, but this thread has convinced me that they’re necessary.

The solution is a raid finder.

It’s not.
GDKP offered benefits to filter out low quality and low effort players, raid finder does completely the opposite.

This problem goes beyond the simple distribution of loot, it’s one of the reasons that it’s such a frustrating change from a player agency perspective. The choice is about the overall raid experience, not just getting the gear.

You are probably being saved from being suspended or banned for being in a group with people that have done RMT for gear.

Far as I can tell blizzards stance on GDKP before they decided to outright ban it was that if any gold was bought and then given to the rest of the raid then everyone in that raid was susceptible to suspensions or bans.

Blizzard probably got tired of appeals constantly filling the inbox over people getting gold from someone who RMT for it in their raid.

Whether you like it or not the bad apples are what drives blizzard to make changes.

Blizzard has to get the botting under control and they need to hit them where it really hurts by banning gold buyers.

GDKP is a casualty in this war and it might come to banning it across all platforms if it turns out to be a success with SOD.

Feb 8 you will be. Follow the rules and you will be ok.

I’ve been playing GDKPs heavily on multiple characters for the past few years, I’ve never experienced anyone getting “2nd hand bans” as described above. In fact, it was rare to even see direct gold buyers banned. The detection and enforcement on RMT (and botting) is woefully bad and is the absolute direct cause for the community drama and economy issues.

Banning GDKP is putting a band-aid on a bullet wound, it doesn’t address the gunman firing off more rounds.

Okay, so confirmed you’re replying in bad faith, thanks!
