Just gonna say it. Earthen VA is super bad

I mean…I understand the reasoning. Still don’t like the sound of it.

I’m fine with it because I won’t be playing an earthen just like I’m not playing a dracthyr. New races aren’t big additions to the game for me.

Apples to oranges. Therazane isn’t a construct.

I wanted to play one simply because they’re a far better looking version of a dwarf solely due to their increased size. Their increased size solves basically all of the other dwarven races geometry and clipping issues.

If they increase the sized of DIDs to match, I’d probably just switch to that instead and ignore Earthen ever existed in the first place.

Valid complaint going back a long, long time. That sucks but I hope you can still enjoy them.

They sound bored and sleepy. Their hair looks terrible.

I only play males so i cant speak to the female model but male earthens gained more clipping issues than they solved :stuck_out_tongue:

I really like the tone of the voices but their lack of inflection and lack of life make them sound so…well, as lifeless as stone. Maybe that’s what they were going for?

I tested out the males. They definitely have far less clipping issues than regular male dwarves.

Oh man, I will be. Not as a new main of course, but I am excited to make one. Way more excited that I’d have expected. I’ve really gotten into my dwarf alts this past six months. I had a couple for a long time, but made a few more in remix as well. Earthen just look like the coolest version of dwarves we’ve had yet. Their customisations look amazing. And yeah, the titan construct thing is really cool to me. I’m gonna make a miniature Tyr.

Thorrim’s voice acting was awesome. When he learned who Sif really was.

Then throw in Odyn. Tyr when we saw him seemed…depressed.

New races are on par with new classes to me.
Theyre as interesting as my desire to play it.

In the case of earthen, i love the race.
They look fantastic and i love their culture.
Theyre actually something i can see myself playing as.

If thr harronir come out… meh. Super uninteresting to me.

Same goes for classes.
If i dont care for the fantasy or the gameplay sucks, it might as well not exist to me.
Dracthyr evokers were a double of meh in my eyes.

Yeah I am glad there are people excited for them but I just haven’t really been hyped about new races or classes since Legion/BfA. I feel like they’ve kind of tapped out the races I’d ever be interested in so while more is a good thing for others I’ve found acceptance that my class/race needs have been met.

I guess we were looking out for different things then.
For me, ive noticed their cloaks clip in to weapons that normal dwarves are fine with.

I’m not sure about that but the flip side is that far less weapons disappear into the ground due to their increased height. They also suffer from far less boot clipping due to their increased leg length.

Plus their run animations don’t look like someone shoved a rod up their bums due to the slowed down animation vs a regular dwarf.

Yeah definitely looking at different parts as i dont do big boots or big weapons on my characters :stuck_out_tongue:

This is what im rocking on beta

Those shoes aint clipping anything haha

Huh I just realized that one derp lion shop mount would look cool for them. Winged guardian

Well for a paladin, some of our set boots have large chunks of 3D assets tacked onto them. I suppose if you’re talking about pre-legion gear, then it wouldn’t matter for boots at least.

Hmm…

If I heard those voices without knowing who they belonged too, I might have imagined a pair that was very old, and very tall and brawny.

I guess that sort of works for ancient and stoney. :upside_down_face:

The voice acting is okay, I guess…

but what are these jokes? Who wrote these? This is some iFunny writing.

Dont think i ever got that one.
Ill double check next time im on.
