I will support Mechagnome druids on the sole condition that they make the transformers noise when they switch forms.
What you seem to not get is horde blood elves basically says I want to be super edgy and evil but I also want to look like a fairy princess or handsome prince or I’m an alliance refugee who dearly misses my gm armor. The vast majority of players who play horde as blood elves would not have played horde in vanilla.
If you want to talk about lame we can talk about the need to look pretty while on the monster faction.
I like gnomes, but not the mechagnomes. I’d love to give my gnome mage a mechanical arm. Some aspects of the mechagnomes are cool, but they look so awkward to me.
Now see that would have actually been cool and might have driven some players to play the race if you had transformer style mechagnome druids.
No, my concerns are mostly about aesthetics and faction distniction.
But make no mistake, the Silver Covenant story is wrong and just as I had a problem with burning that tree I have a problem with them prancing around. They need to be punished for their crimes and making them playable is Blizzard saying they’re okay with collective punishment and war crimes.
Yet horde gets tolkien style elves and dark elves. Gosh I wonder why the alliance is bleeding players it couldn’t be because there is a fairly accurate perception of bias hmmmmmmmm.
What tolkien elves?
Lol what crimes? Daring to protect their adopted city against the horde who freaking mana bombed a ton of them who were living in theramore?
Blood elves are tolkienesque nightborn are dark elves that can basically look exactly like night elves.
Yet your concerns never seem to carry over to the night elves you already have I don’t see you making threads asking blizzard to get rid of them weird.
Don’t you remember that part of Lord of the Rings when Legolas drained a passerby of his energy then hopped on a big purple chicken on his way to fight some zombies?
if Anything the Night elves entirely fit the tolkenesque role, they just don’t have the blond hair blue eye look, which frankly, who cares?
They’re like really into the light now, but other than that they’re pretty diverse. Some of them are edgy and some of them are not. I imagine more not now that their trauma is further away.
If what you want is an ugly bad pretty good story, you’re playing the wrong game…and Alliance high elves, are not good guys. At least not most of them.
And it was awesome when Galadriel created golems powered by blood, and Arwen stopped the naz’gul with arcane constructs.
With all this talk about tolkien you might think we were playing lord of the rings online. We aren’t, differences are good.
Alliance high elves are most certainly more the good guys than blood elves lol
Fairly obvious I’m talking about aesthetics.
Let’s say everyone thought this way, I’m sure people would still want to play them regardless. As seen from people RPing evil forsaken who relished in the suffering they inflicted upon the night elves.
Making them unplayable just because you disagree with their history or behavior is a little absurd and only further reflects that you don’t want others to play them based on your personal feelings towards their story.
And this kinda headcanon nonsense just makes me oppose this request more.
But are they even that?
Other than being beings called elves with human skin tones? They have different ears and massively different fashion. I’d say the night elves probably have a fashion more similar to tolkien elves, and especially from the hobbit, more of the personality. But even that is just passing similarity.
That they are not. At best they are minor villains in the over all story and antagonists in the Blood Elf story. Granted some of them just want to be human side kicks, but lots of them are just racist toward orcs, and the rest took the easy route while their people were struggling. The Blood Elf story isn’t about being evil, it’s about pragmatism and doing what you need to survive in the face of extreme adversity.
And alliance gets wood elves and really cool looking void elves. I think look wise, alliance gets the better end of the stick.
