But a firm “no” on the High Elves. High Elves are too visually similar to the Blood Elves. I want us to retain our faction identity, and having a clone of one of the Horde races would be detrimental to that. Though there is demand for the High Elves, there is also significant demand for there not To be High elves in the game.
Honestly, at this point, Blizzard should write them out of the story, they should be canonically killed off, or follow Alleria and be converted fully into Void Elves. Then we can just put all of this junk behind us.
Ya know, I see the “there’s only like five high elves left.” Or the “there’s not enough high elves left.” Arguments . . . If you can honestly sit there and tell me there’s less high elves then Blood elven followers of Magister Umbric who’s followers were described as an “Elite group.”. then I’m gonna have to call bull on that. And if Blizzard wants to tell me there’s more void elves then high elves then that would be THE most contrived way to justify their inclusion that I’d honestly be shocked if some diehard void elf players weren’t offended.
Edit: also remember that it’s been confirmed by Blizzard that Umbric and the ren’dorei are NOT making more of themselves out of high elf and blood elf pilgrims
the high elves that were exiled from their home and settled in SMC were part of an unofficial treaty with the alliance at one time and actually was under consideration to be formally allowed into the the alliance but due to a xenophobic human general that kept verbally abusing and flaunting his disdain for the elves even going so far as to put them on the front lines fighting the scourge often in situations where it was a suicide mission and wouldn’t lift a finger to support them militarily and in one of those battles Illidans naga troops came to their aid and then that same general used it as an excuse to try and commit genocide on them leading them to flee to outland as their only chance for survival
which for obvious reasons it caused a major schism in their treaty and they withdrew their petition to formally join the alliance and the surviving members of the siege from Arthas turned to the horde as well as the forsaken being recruited into their faction who had reclaimed lordaron with the lich king retreating to northrend which was helped immensely by the return of the now free Sylvanas due to her past ties with the now renamed Blood elves
Good to know. Since I’m sure most people are less concerned about designs nowadays considering they just gave the Alliance the very unpopular fat humans and amputee gnomes.
They are still better than a horrible race that looks exactly like blood elves. (And no adding tattoos is not a “difference” that is just called adding tattoos) Having two playable different races look the same is objectively bad game design. Of course your one of those “Horde Bias” people so nothing you said is very surprising or even worth entertaining in my opinion.
Then I guess Void Elves must rub you the wrong way since that’s exactly what they are, as opposed to the High Elf request that you obviously ignore and don’t understand since we’ve been actively brainstorming on how to not make them exact copies of Blood Elves with a little thing called story telling and world building, I’m sure that bits lost on your part, since the nuance of High Elves vs Blood Elves is lost on most antis.
You’re right, cause anyone should be listening to a blatant horde fanboy hiding behind a secondary account .
I strongly suggest actually taking the time to read the request, or fade into the background like every other outraged forum casual with “sTOp SPamMINg DE fORuMs”
I mean you can say that “this bicycle is unrideable” if you try to spin the pedals with your hands and fall off.
The problem with your “objectivity” is that you use assumptions as the baseline for your alleged facts.
Like if HE’s as a playable race would look the same, that the racial exclusivity paradigm changes, that it’s necessary to have unique looking races, that BE/HE would not be the same race just on different factions.
