Just give the alliance high elves already

essentially ally has become the pet battle/rper faction where everyone who is hardcore about doing end game content has switched to horde. that’s not an exaggeration either. and i say this as a horde main.

I only let my hubby do that.

"So, Blood Elves kind of are High Elves with different eye colors and backstory in terms of their relationship to magic in the Sunwell. But if you want to be a fair-skinned, light, blonde-haired, tall, majestic, elf…that is a Blood Elf.

Giving that race directly to the Alliance would have blurred a lot of the lines between the two factions, but also there isn’t a clear example of who or what High Elves are as a larger group which remains in Azeroth. There’s a couple…we just met Alleria again…but they’re not out there in the same way. When we add an Allied Race, there’s a desire to have things be even more distinct especially between the two factions with the faction conflict being so prominent. And so, the Void Elf angle, as it tied into the story of Argus, the powers of Alleria awakened and was able to train others to harness, was able to give something that felt a bit like a Blood Elf but had a unique flavor of its own to the Alliance.

That said, obviously I understand you would love Alliance elves…you’re an Alliance player, and want to be a fair-skinned, light-haired, blue-eyed elf. Sorry? The Horde is there and waiting for you. Eye color is not quite the same but maybe contact lenses in the future, you never know? Anything is possible in the future, but no plans in the near-term to add High Elves as an Allied Race."

Edit: copied too much oops.

looking at 120 characters, I believe it’s a much bigger difference.

fix’d, you’re welcome

That might actually be crueller then not giving them the race at all; those things are hideous.

Hey, they just want the coloring and the name right?

you should probably read through the article you just posted, because it goes on to explain exactly why he’s wrong and why they could be added.

Lead game devs option is pretty right though, since he kind of has the final word on it.

He’s not the only dev, and the amount of backlash he got for saying that really wasn’t worth it. Aditionally, people can and do change their minds, especially when proven wrong so unanimously.

Yet you guys still make these threads. :sleepy:

Except it isn’t unanimous; the fact that there is active debate and that you are even now arguing with an alliance player shows that plenty of people moved on from this topic a long time ago.

There isn’t an active debate. There are Warcraft fans asking to play High Elves while a legion of trolls led by CM sockpuppets wage a disinformation campaign to make it seem like High Elves are anything but a good idea.

It’d be easier to just put them in the game on the Alliance like they’re supposed to be.

arguing that ion isn’t the “only” dev even though he runs the entire frickin game. yeah that’s logical. headdesk

i fought the good fight for alliance helves for a long time. i’m tired. belves have their blue eyes. it’s time to move on.

No, this is a debate. That you don’t accept that is ~much like your inability to accept that high elves aren’t coming down the pipe~ is on you.

Okay, shill. Being adept at lying doesn’t make your posts any more genuine.

Only thing that’s been temporarily hidden for trolling is the original post asking for Alliance high elves. Noone here is trolling. And if they are, it was either a while ago or is really good. This is a debate that a few people are taking too seriously so it looks like everyone’s a troll.

I assume that he thinks because I’m pointing out the flaws in the arguments of the High elf community that I’m trolling as opposed to stating facts.

There is absolutely a difference; Like If I was to say something to the effect of “I’m sorry that you can’t be an Blue eyes white elf in the alliance mein freund” That would be trolling.

But that isn’t what I’m doing, I’m instead pointing out that this is a decision that the Dev team made over a decade ago and that continuing to tear at your skin and treat their refusal to aquiese isn’t some horrible crime against the alliance player base, nor is giving blue eyes to belves some cruel injustice.
