Yes they did…that’s how they got around the Sunwell breaking, and why they have an Arcane Torrent racial. That’s also a big reason why Kael went to Outland.
Why would you want VE to look like BE? lol no staap XD
Glory to the Sindorei
For High Elves, which are effectively now a Void Elf subrace.
But honestly I just want a pretty elf with my skin hair and eye colors on the Alliance, because I like the feel of it better, and all I’m missing is a dark brown hair color.
I think we should get the ear options. I would like to see the hair options but can understand why we wouldn’t get them. The void has to leave some sort of mark on us and I guess hair is where it’s at.
They did not consume it. They used fel magic to power enchantments and as a source of power, not to sate mana addiction. For that they tapped mana from small creatures. Some elves disagreed with harming creatures and left and drained mana from magic artifacts.
Kael went to Outland to find a replacement for the Sunwell and eventually his fel elves did consume fel, but it changed their skin tone and gave them horns and wings.
“May we please have some spare High Elf fantasy, sir? Just a paint job?”
“How dare you that paint is MINE”
I mean …. exactly tho lol
Quoted for truth.
I remember when they got Void Elves. Back when they confirmed they’d never give High Elves they made something that was hamfisted just to give them their nearly High Elf option. Instead of being thankful, they complained.
I am convinced the Alliance players will never be happy. I just want a warchief that lasts longer than an expansion.
“I know the paint doesn’t run out, I just don’t wanna share it”
Surprising how not addressing playable High Elves did not, in fact, made people stop asking for playable High Elves.
I prefer my golden eyes personally but when we go and raid your cities I will be sure to visit the barber and snag some bright blues just to rub it in <3 lol
My main is a blood elf, can I tag along?
Of course! we can go get our shiny blues together before disrupting the SW auction house
<----definitely hoping for actual black hair.
This is from the ask the Devs.
How did the blood elven fel eye glint become so widespread? The Warcraft Encyclopedia suggests that Rommath only taught the blood elves of Azeroth about how to siphon arcane magic, as most of the populace would likely be “horrified” if they knew the true extent of Kael’s dealings with Illidan.
The situation regarding blood elf eyes is, in fact, extremely similar to that of the green skin of orcs: just being around heavy use of fel magic turned the eyes of the blood elves green. You could be the most pious of priests or most outdoorsy of Farstriders, chances are, if you were a high elf in Quel’Thalas or Outland following the Third War, you were around fel energies, and your eyes would turn green. Like the orcs’ skin color, such an effect would take a very long time to wear off. Fel magic works a bit like radiation in this sense; it permeates the area and seeps into anything in the vicinity. Anything near a source of fel magic shows signs of slight corruption, it just so happens that high elves and orcs manifest it in a very visual way.
As you can read the Developers said nothing about it being cleansed by the light, but that it would take a very long time for it to wear off. So obviously fel does wear off. Blizzard must of decided that enough time has passed.

1.) Told not getting High Elves
-continually protest
2.) Get Void Elves
-continually protest
3.) Get High Elves skin options for Void Elves
-continually protest
4.) Get High Elves
-continually protest asking for Blood Elf options
5.) Repeat ad nauseam
I mean, imagine Horde asking for Humans… Then constantly justifying their whinging because they didn’t get exactly what they asked for.
The Horde does has Humans though, sure they’re rotting and smell funky, but they’re still Humans.
But they’re not exactly humans, just like Void Elves aren’t exactly High Elves :^)
Shocking, people that want High Elves, keep asking for High Elves.
Like what’s the issue tho? You don’t think HE’s exist on the alliance, or you just don’t want to share aesthetics?
What’s about “hey, maybe we could have the fantasy of this race that has been historically, and currently, part of the alliance” vexes you so greatly?
It’s like people are living and dying by the “no sharesies” rule.
Have at humans if you wish so. if it makes sense lorewise why a group belongs with the other faction, why not represent it in player choice?
TL;DR I really don’t care to have this debate with someone who obviously wants High Elves. Just have the last word, man. It’s not like I’m going to sway your biased opinion.
