Just give me a lil' more for Void Elves, please

because even though wow has always had a selection of races to pick from with positives and negatives, the good people of the alliance have decided that they need exactly what they want in all regards.

Because blood elves on the alliance ONLY exist because of a prior faction imbalance. Without that they would have been high elves on the alliance side as they should have been all along. Now it’s imbalanced the other way so adding the option to look exactly like high elves and getting to actually be on the alliance isn’t an issue in the slightest and anyone against it is just a jelly hater.

Not everybody likes the void thing so we just do away with it? Why bother having introduced them in the first place, then?

While you at that why dont they give horde void elf options too?

Lore wise, the blood elves wanted to be on the Alliance until the Alliance made it basically impossible to justify them joining.

Ain’t that the question.

Short answer is that Blizzard wanted to give the popularly requested High Elves to the Alliance as an AR without making them identical to Blood Elves, so they created Void Elves out of thin air and were sure to make everyone know they used Blood Elves to do it.

I suppose it really doesn’t matter all that much. People getting to play in a way they enjoy is ultimately a good thing so I think this is a net positive, but seeing some of the faction uniqueness and lore seemingly go away is kind of sad. Time’s change though, and we’ll see where Blizzard takes us.

Yes because it was written that way to give them an excuse to go on the horde due to the huge faction population imbalance during that period.

That same lore says there were high elves who choose to honor the treaty with the alliance and chose them over their nation. And now Blizzard realizing it was a dumb thing to do back then is fixing it.

Blood elves will still be blood elves and void elves will still be void elves in the lore but giving both of them the options to look like the same high Elf race they both came from so players can enjoy themselves while playing isn’t an issue or big deal in the slightest.

Give alliance orc and trolls while you in your high elf spam post

Which is why Void Elves we’re seen as a mistake lore wise, but became an incredibly popular AR for their Blood Elf model.

After Void Elves, High Elf fans requested a different rig for a possible High Elf AR so as to not have another carbon copy situation that no one wanted.

Blizz’s answer was giving Void Elves regular skin tones, fixing one issue and creating 10 more. :man_shrugging:

Only indicating why folk still want the high elves.

As per the question asked.

As for your new questions:
No to the first.
And the second, short version is they added them as a way to give high elf pros what they wanted but were dumb about it and so it didn’t work.

Why that makes zero sense, unlike those two races belfs were only added to help faction imbalance or horde would never have gotten them to begin with.

imo these forums are filled with too much envy. between posts for high elves, mage tower weapons, homogenizing covenants.

i wish more were posting in hope of new things, presenting fresh ideas. not just ways to give everyone everything.

oh well, brown haired void elves right

You dont see we horde crying for your night elf

Why would they unlike belfs nelfs are supposed to be on the alliance. Oh but technically you still did with nightborne but you don’t see us crying over it.

sylvanas made the blood elf join the horde cause she was part of the horde so the blood elf join through her undead help rebuild silvermoon no alliance in sight

Folks are bored and stuck at home. I mean, folks complained before, but we’re reachin’ a different level at this point.
