Just give me a lil' more for Void Elves, please

Simple, they ARE using the sunwell, because that’s what the Blood Elves/High Elves revolved around for thousands of years. They had Blue eyes during that time as a result of arcane energies from the sunwell. It is now restored, the light aspect of it has already begun reflecting in golden eyes to its users, so why wouldn’t the arcane energies from it reflect in blue eyes again? Lore citation is the simple fact that this is how the Sunwell always worked. Do I need to link you how Blue eyes on Thalassian elves work?

On the otherhand, the claim against that IS what needs lore citation, because this was established as a reason why they have blue eyes in the first place, but you’re claiming (or defending the claim) that they only got it back now, due to some High Elves defecting back to Quel’Thalas, and I want proof of that. It’s not been stated or implied anywhere that the few exiles have rejoined their kingdom.

I see what you’re saying, but Lightforged and Draenei share a model. Highmountain and Tauren share a model. Dark Iron and Dwarves share a model. Nightborne and Night Elves share many of the same aspects of their skeleton.

At this point in time, I don’t think Blizzard has the capacity to update all of the AR alongside the core races and still get the expansion released on schedule. Maybe with later patches.

Arcane is purple, chronicle literally tells us the Blue eyes are due to further exposure and use of a well of Eternity. As Azeroth’s blood is blue. Which their current well is now a Yellow color as it’s mixed with light…but ok, Jan. Like at least do what she’s doing and link articles back, sheesh.

I support additional requests you listed in your thread, I just didn’t like the OP because I think the timing is off. A lot of BE fans are feeling our customizations are lackluster, and an AR received an entire second visual theme… we got jewelry and an eye color.

I’ve always supported the HE community, but would they be happy without the skin tone second visual theme, and having jewelry instead? What about just an eye color?

This is my issue, and so far they have shown they can’t do both at the same time, because they gifted VE’s a second visual theme, and what do BE’s have to show for it? Jewelry? An eye color? Arguing those two things as the same impact of the skin tones and the second visual theme that opens up the HE non Void aesthetic I’m just going to say rn feels disingenuous to me.

So I don’t object to the additional request I object to the timing, and I firmly believe as a core race BE’s should have gotten actual thought put into our customizations. People have been asking for Dark Ranger type stuff for years, Velonara is the perfect citation to add them. Tattoos. Farstrider for example, but also our box art, they took great pains to get NE fans the box art looks.

Meanwhile BE’s got more jewelry, I think arm jewelry was the latest. Say not single new hair comes for VE’s but jewelry was given instead, no new hair colors, no styles, just jewelry.

BE fans have a right to feel some type of way, as BE’s are the core race. And I support more VE stuff after BE’s get a decent pass. Thats my personal stance anyways.

I’m not the one who made the head canon claim that blood elves ONLY have thier blue eyes back because a group of exiles returned and rejoined Quel’thalas, therefor I"m not the one who needs to prove anything.

Show me exactly where/how/when did a group of High Elf exiles were confirmed to rejoin Quel’Thalas, and until then, it’s just your head canon.

I support Dark Rangers on Horde, but I kind of think they should be a separate allied race.

What debate, it’s literal canon fact that Alliance has the group that actually refer to themselves as High Elves.

Is biased the new word for fake news?

I agree, and as some else mentioned previously.

  1. The High Elf Eye and Skin Color options were announced as a show of good faith, when they brought about Blue Eyes for Blood Elves, to prevent a crap show. They probably always planned to give both races the said things, but they didn’t want to upset one side with these options either way.

  2. This is further supported by the Blue Post that said Humany Skins on the Void Elves will have the Navy/Black underwear, and Beta only has the Blood Elf skins copy & pasted, so that ppl can get an idea, but the underwear isn’t even finished on them.

Honestly Void Elves will be the first Allied race to get fleshed out. I imagine they’ll get Hair Colors a Void toggle, and Ear sizes, by patch 9.1.5 if not at launch

If you want your character to look like you, play a human. The point of all the other races in the game is to, and bear with me here, Role-Play (the R and P of MMORPG) as something not themselves. You are not an elf.

Care to point to an official Blizzard source for this?

i am very sure they will add at least the most used hair colors of blood elves for void elves

By that logic elves shouldn’t have black skin.

Sometimes, people like the option of playing their favorite race, and at the same time, representing themselves too. There’s nothing wrong with this. We’ve never seen Black Elves, Black Dwarves, or Black Gnomes, but they’re all getting those new skin colors.

This isn’t a bad thing. It’s a good thing.

More customization is always a good thing. If it makes sense with the lore, all the better. If it’s just for letting players identify more with their character, then that’s great! There is no reason not to add the appropriate hair colors, and honestly, better hairstyles, to Void Elves. We’ve been told High Elves are being represented through both Void Elves and Blood Elves. Well, that means more work for Void Elves needs to be done still.

I don’t think it’ll necessarily come in for Shadowland’s launch. I think the new skin tones and eye colors may be the extent of what Void Elves will get right now. I think when more customizations are added, we’ll see more High Elf options for Void Elves, and also, more void options. There’s only so many iterations of blond/fair you can do, but void customizations have so much more potential for creativity. Add the High Elf stuff and move on to new void stuff.

This really doesn’t seem like an unreasonable request from OP though.

Reminder that we NEED paladin and blonde hair for velfs

Alliance still asking for more even though blizz broke the lore to give them our exclusive blood elf

  1. Making a new race, in the same vein of how Elves are known to evolve ontop of how the Ethereals came to be, is not breaking the lore.

  2. Had they given us High Elves instead, then there would be no arguments about lore when it came to the appearance of the Void Elves or anything like that.

Thank you.

They cant give you high elf cause high elf are blood elf thats why you got void elf

All Blood Elves are High Elves. Not all High Elves are Blood Elves.

Also, acting like you are personally in the Horde is kinda weird. It’s a vidyagame, let people have things.

sigh the thread is still going? People take this game way too seriously. I think I am gonna log in and farm some Tmog stuff or go fart around on a lowbie alt.

Have fun.

Considering it’s been mostly respectable, civil, and full of great ideas from both sides, yeah. It’s still going. Don’t know why that bothers you.
