I don’t think they need to share everything, but perhaps a couple could share with many more being unique to each. Void Elves do need more variety in hairstyles though, and not all need to be all tendril-y. True black and true white hair would be nice too.
A nonpurplish red should really be an option along with Alleria blonde. They can take the current purplish red, light it uniformly in the bright gold light that happens once in the lightforged unlock quest, and it would be perfect.
Fixed that for you.
I don’t think the unkempt hair styles fit with the blood elves. The dark ranger colorations, sure.
Considering that you can toggle the Fel off a Blood elf entirely, I wouldn’t exactly say that’s a defining theme for them anymore, at least not to the extent the Void is for Void elves.
They’re not “Fel Elves” after all, and it’s not like they have any fel racials either for that matter. Blood elven themes typically involve more golds, and center heavily on the sun, and light.
There’s no reason Blizzard couldn’t tidy them up for Blood Elves. I mean, a few Void Elf hairstyles are already variants of existing Blood Elf styles. The same could be done in reverse for Blood Elves! And not for nothing… some unkempt styles might look pretty snazzy with San’layn customization!
Am I missing something? The preview they posted clearly shows void elves with non-glowy, non-betentacled hair.

This one right here. All the non-blue skin tones have regular hair.

With a random storyline that came out of no where, lol.
Those hairstyles naturally either don’t have tentacles or have them out of sight (down the back)
The first one has the tentacles you can see, the second hairstyle has tentacles down the back and you can just see a touch of the glow if you look closely. Hair styles 3 and 4 naturally don’t have any tentacles. So it doesn’t look like anything has changed as far as existing styles are concerned from what I can see there.
Ah, right you are. Just tested it on a new character creation. I could have sworn the ponytail ended in tentacles.
Still I hope that Blizzard decides to share hair between Blood and Void Elves… I know I’d like a few of the Void Elf ones for my Blood Elf priest >_>
Nothing has been taken from them. Some players will prefer the blueberry skin and some players will want the pale skin. Remember, the very first and most prominent Void Elf had pale skin. What was lost?
There is a pony tail style that ends in a tentacle but that’s the ponytail at the back of the head not the one over the shoulder.
All I f***ing want is a slick, large greasy tentacle growing up from the back of my head and combed over towards the front, like a pompadour.
I think the void elves will be fine, they don’t need you championing them on the forums. In fact they’re probably about to have more players than they ever have.
i want a thick, braided beard, with tentacles in it : )
Seriously, I’d just like a non receding hairline option.
As of now they have not said anything about hair, so assume the answer is no until they say otherwise. Blonde hair is all I need now to make my Void Elf mage match her Silver Covenant transmog so I really hope they at least give us that even if we don’t get any of the hair styles.
From what I’ve seen, belfs have what looks like white hair…both a goldish white and a silver white. Not sure that this might change, but I’d be happy if they made it into the game.
I would be happy if velfs could get some belfs hairstyles and vice versa. My belf priest and mage would look great with some of the velf hairstyles, and I think my velf hunter would look great in the low ponytail that belfs get. More options are always better.
When it comes to normal hair i’m also fine with some Night Elf or Human options being given to the Void/High Elves. It would be nice to see them get a few of their own unique styles though too. Maybe taking inspiration from some of the High Elf fan art with more practical ranger type styles.
