Those fights you linked for cleave though are static 2 target/4target fights where the mobs are stacked and up the entire fight so a dh can just immediately apply brand to them and keep it rolling the entire time. Itâs a niche situation that doesnât happen outside of those fights. Look at a dungeon where it is split into multiple separate groups of mobs that need to be aoeâd down. You can meta and aoe apply your brand to a few of those packs but for the majority of the them you are relying on aoe abilities that do less damage compared to every other class. Or other bosses that have waves of adds that appear through out the fight, if you have meta available for them you can do some damage, if they spawn when meta is down youâll do tank damage to them while continuing to single target the boss. And even those two fights you linked where havoc is supposedly doing good aoe/cleave damage, itâs really just the dot doing the damage, at 40% while the rest of the actual abilities that are baked into the rotation are doing very little. 2nd top damage after sinful brand on those cleave fights is a pure single target ability btw.
And no dh does not have the same overall AoE throughput as other classes. They have a dot that does most of their damage that can only be applied to one target at a time outside of a 3 and a half minute cooldown. Other classes have abilities that hit multiple targets harder than a dh and can press those abilities more often than a dh can.
Dh doesnât need other covenant buffs to be in a decent spot, they need buffs to the actual freaking class, not more borrowed power thrown at them.
Instead of heroic logs of niche bosses that cater to dhâs current strengths (and they still arenât even the best on those fights LOL) look at damage meters in dungeons where classes do 25-30k and dh is sub 20k most of the time.
