You willingly play with people who do as well. Guaranteed there are gold buyers in literally every single raid team GDKP or not. You don’t care though, right? Cause it isn’t your problem. Same logic in GDKPs. I don’t care if some whale is buying gold and nor is it my business.
Bots farmed that gold on SoD. I’ve been farming them on my rogue. Mostly hunters and mages farming leather. I kill the bots and steal their skins. I’m on a mission to make them as unprofitable as possible.
So this leads me to think you really don’t know what you are talking about. You are just making assumptions to fit your narrative. Why is a bot farming gold going to trade gold on SoD for gold in retail? Please think about how little sense that makes.
I used to trade retail gold from classic gold when it released. I was trading with actual players who I even played with on occasion or would run into doing dungeons or raiding.
*edit: Yes there are bots on SoD, they however are SELLING that gold… not trading it for gold in other versions of the game… The botters have bots farming those versions too.
Their algorithms are also catching tons of innocent players. People trading gold between chars, or amongst friends/guildies, people swapping gold across servers or from WOTLK to SoD, etc. I would normally call most of them liars and say “you’re prolly a gold buyer and you’re lying” but the numbers are staggering and people I know personally who dont buy gold have been banned for 14 days or more for simply mailing gold to an alt, paying back a friend for consumes ,etc.
Drink was talking about trading WotLK gold for SoD gold. The fact that service even exists is proof the botters are operating on multiple servers. This trade allows them to unload dirty gold on SoD and gain “clean” gold on WotLK. The more they can move gold around, the less likely they are to get banned and lose supply.
I’d think WOTLK to SoD would be the same thing as you can buy tokens on Wotlk.
I’ll grant you this is a possibility I didn’t consider, but I’m a bit doubtful of that.
As for legitimate trading it would still function just the same as retail to SoD.
Player A used to play on WOTLK classic and accumulated gold or just buys tokens for gold and trades that gold to player B who has farmed gold on SoD and wants to buy a token for game time.
Despite I think the decision to ban GDKP in SoD was correct, I don’t think it will go across all WoW iterations.
It may bring more negatives than positives in other versions
You are still not making an argument. GDKP is not banned on WOTLK. And even still, how does it harm SoD when the gold farmed on SoD would be legitimately farmed gold Do you believe that SoD gold was botted?
