Jonãs and Friends

Hi!

Not sure if you’ve heard but Jonas is back to T3.

Hope the world is working out for you.

May your days be many and filled with the happiness you need.

Thanks, Nightsong!

I appreciate you letting me know, though now I think it shall be a lonely place out here by myself. Still, I’m glad he’s back somewhere that he is able to relax and be himself and that there are wonderful people there who treasure him like you.

@Teufelgott: YES! That is the song! Sorry it took me so long to reply to you. By the time I realized I could use an alt to reply to you, Nightsong was kind enough to reply making the effort unnecessary.

You know, you’re on my list of people I treasure, as well.

Don’t worry I’ll keep checking in.

May your days be many and filled with the happiness you need.

All is well with my family and me. I FINALLY got to put some of my plants out today. It’s been in the 30s at night, and some of my plants would not survive in that weather, so they’ve been indoors for several weeks.

I’m taking it easy the rest of the day and most likely will play a board game with my lovely daughter.

I’m hoping everyone has had a relaxing weekend.

Awesome! There are so many people I like here…

My mom’s been in a similar situation. Hope it stays warm for all of you plant peoples… can you tell I’m not into raising plants? lol

Ditto.

May your days be many and filled with the happiness you need.

Hey, you two!

Thanks so much for the lovely replies! I treasure all of you guys, too. You’re pretty much the reason that I stop by these forums, other than to gawk at what’s going on on Moon Guard’s forum and see what’s what in the Community forums. I have to admit that the community forums are … sometimes very confusing.

I really hope everyone’s week is starting out well. Mine certainly is. Cleaning day! Getting out the summer linens for the beds, which makes me happy, though I lost one of my ear buds in bed the other night; so,…I’m hoping I can find it.

I got some “Back to the Roots” kits and am growing some window Italian basil, cilantro, and mint. The mint is kind of refusing to do much, but there’s one little sprig. We’ll see how that goes. Our sage plant is just continuing to grow, which is really nice. I’ve got a something cross plant which is doing really well in the window, too.

I also got some strawberries in a jar, cherry tomatoes in a jar, and lavender in a jar. The tomatoes and lavender are doing gang-busters. The strawberries are not peeping their heads up yet. But…I have high hopes that they might soon.

The last one I have is a sunflower in a jar kit, which I’m going to get to today–get it all set up and planted. It’ll be one of the plants that I transfer outside once I get it up and growing. Considering doing the same to the sage, as well, though I’d rather wait until I have a trellis set up for it to climb.

Still, all the greening things are keeping me busy. Cer’s aunt just visited recently, and we’re finally getting settled again after that. Spent a wonderful time yesterday playing 7th Citadel with Cer. By the time we were done at almost midnight last night, I was definitely done. Super done. laughing

This week I’m going to be working through a book that starts out a class next week for beginning to submit my work. By the end of May, I should have submitted some of my poetry out into the world. And from there, …it’ll just be more of the same–Submit, Publish (or get Rejected a lot), Repeat!

It’s pretty exciting, though I have no idea how I’m going to arrange my poetry packets right now. Still doing the last few days of my poetry class, and then we have a couple of parties where people will be reading something they wrote this month. Very much looking forward to that.

One of our recent sessions, Kai Coggin came and chatted with us and shared her poetry. If you haven’t heard of her, I urge you to get to know her. She’s just…amazing. And her writing is phenomenal, too. But it’s her, as a person, that really enthralls me. She’s just a wonderful, loving human being.

Well, …that’s it from me for now. Hope you all have a wonderful week, and may you do all the things that make your hearts and souls sing!

~~ Jenni (and Chani, of course)

I love everything green. The mint might surprise you and start growing like a weed. I have had a few stubborn mint plants in the past. I have several varieties all over our property. Well, the part that isn’t wooded. They can take over quickly.

It sounds like you both enjoyed yourself, and that is great.

I had a busy Monday at work, which is how I enjoy my workdays; time does fly by. Bella, my Bichon/Poodle, typically hangs out with me. My job is 100% remote.

Hahah…now I have the original Star Wars orchestral opening going through my head! Thank you for this. Hope you’re doing well.

Here’s that opening theme: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=e9lapdvLSGw&si=iAyrEzIkOO7CGU5Z

I’ve been throwing words onto blank pages and hoping they stick for a while now–still keeping up with it now that it’s May. And on Monday I’ll be starting a new course designed to keep me submitting through the rest of my days.

If anyone is interested in reading and an/or critiquing my works, I currently have a Discord channel where I am sharing that work. I’d be happy to invite you. My Discord is: Argentrose. So just hit me up there. Let me know who you are from the forums, and I’ll get you set up!

May the Fourth also be with you–the Fourth Doctor, that is. Care for some jelly babies? I so can’t wait for this season of Doctor Who to begin!!!

lol, wasn’t expecting the fast response!

I too have been throwing words at blank files to try and find the threads I need to weave the tales that haunt my dreams…

Glade to hear everything is going well.

Never could get into Doctor Who, not sure why. The few episodes I watched were entertaining, but they just never seemed to click enough to keep me interested.

Star Wars is a case of the idea of the setting, a sci-fantasy space opera with such a diverse setting and portfolio of races and cultures…, being far more interesting to me then the media produced for it. I’m just not interested in blunt good vs evil stories, at least not on a large scale. Star Wars to me is at its best when it finds the grey and starts making you question just what it means to be a good person or even a bad one.

Anyways may the new season of Doctor Who be as good as you need it to be. :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

I’d definitely be interested to reading your poetry. I love poetry. I’ll try to pop in there sometime today.

My daughter and I went to the Maryland sheep and wool festival yesterday. We had a great time. It rained the whole time though. It did not take away from our enjoyment. I’ll post pictures later today.

Here are a few pictures from the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival.

These sheep were so adorable. A few loved head scratches. The others, understandably, were relaxing or staying away from people. I only pet the ones that were interested in some attention. This one actually walked up to me and offered me her head for some head scratches.

OMG…so adorbable! I -think- I got you, Vyanta. I’ll work on adding you to our channel either later on tonight or tomorrow, as we’re gaming today and my class starts this evening, as well. Also, there’s a short story contest that’s starting tomorrow, too–which I crazily entered for some stupid reason. >.<

Anyway…give me a day or two, and we’ll get that all sorted. grins Did you buy any wool by chance? Are you going to be weaving anything from it or making thread/yarn? I’m always so happy to see people’s creations with natural fibers and wools and the like, even if I am not able to do so myself.

I promised myself I would not buy any more wool. I have several bags of unprocessed fiber already. However, I did purchase four skeins of custom-dyed yarn from a local fiber artist. I follow the shop owner on Instagram. It was nice to see her and her store. I plan to knit socks with the yarn purchased. I’ll have to post pictures of the yarn.

I plan to process some of the fiber I already have during the summertime. I’ll spin to make yarn and either knit or weave. We shall see!

Edited to add…

Please keep us posted on how that goes. You’re a great writer. I’m sure you will do well.

There’s nothing wrong with asking for help. Sometimes it’s all we can do to just scream into the void and hope someone hears us. Also, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was in no shape to respond.

Lymphedema is that correct? Working off memory here.

Just to confirm you have told your doctor/primary physician that it is migrating around the body, correct? That is something that doesn’t show up in my research into the disease and suggests something is actively interfering in lymph node operations, before moving on, which generally isn’t the case. There are a variety of mobile parasites that can function in the body and disrupt organ function, these are generally rare.

Mostly just wanted to let you know someone heard your call. If I can, I will help, but this is outside my depth of knowledge, and I suspect the knowledge of my siblings who have more medical knowledge then I do.

Hey, everyone!

Long time no write.

I’ve been busy with my publishing class, though the short story class kind of fell through the cracks. Lesson learned: don’t schedule more than one intensive class at a time. I still have a bit of work left to do for the class–just revisions, but other than that, it’s done with. I’m mostly looking forward to having a bit of my summer to clean up around the house and get some things organized before I head off for adventures in August.

I’m doing the Poetry Marathon the weekend of June 15th and 16th–24 hours, 1 poem every hour, no writing ahead. I’m sleeping all of Sunday. laughing Or at least as much of it as I can manage. Please wish me luck!

This weekend we’re off to the Firestone-Walker Beer Festival in Paso Robles. If anyone else is going to be there, please feel free to poke me here or on Discord. Again, the handle’s Argentrose.

All in all, I’m tired. It’s been a lot of work lately–both working on myself and my writing. So I think I’m kind of just tired–glad to have these little siestas on the weekends. I’m definitely looking forward to checking out all the neat beers and whatever happens to be at the festival, too.

Hope your summers are all starting off well, as well. Please write back and let me know how you’re all doing, and I’ll try to get something posted again next week about all the great stuff I ate and drank over the weekend!

Love to all of you.

Things are generally going well.

Fighting my procrastination is a pain in the … (Blighted forums have tighter restrictions then the game itself…). The good news I have most of the plot beats worked out for a story… getting around to writing it is being … difficult…

Forcing myself to only work on three projects at a time, often by cycling.

Also forcing myself to only play four hours of Remix, only a few more exclusive items and I’ll be done, blizzard keeps ruining the fun and only those who can no-life the game, are actually doing well are permitted into the higher difficulties.

I’m not sure if I’ll do anything in the beta or not. I’m rather disappointed we haven’t gotten more class/race combos… and I’m very angry about being limited to dragonflying or being limited to a ride even slower then oldflying (the so-called “accessibility” options…) because that doesn’t feel like a childish attack at all. Nope, not one freaken bit… /s

Anyways, glad to hear all is well for you.

May your days be many and filled with the happiness you need.

Hey @Soma and @Nightsong!

Soma: It’s good to see and “hear” from other ex-Loungers here, too. Even though Jonas has made it back into the fold from what I gather, I still just can’t seem to crack the Lounge code again–nor do I have much drive or incentive to do so. I think I’m just tired of seeing many of the same old arguments or ideas thrown out over and over again, but I’m guessing that at this stage of the game’s life cycle, that’s just how things go. Still, the pedantic arguments or rhetoric for rhetoric’s sake games make me want to throw these forums into the trash bin and not look back. I’m just grateful that I’m not the only one frustrated by the things that I am generally frustrated by and that I can upvote my frustrations with hearts.

That totally seems productive. (/s)

@Nightsong: all the hugs Sometimes it can be hard to get back into the writing mindset, especially if there are things that are taking your interest in other directions. Summer seems to be a time that can do that quite a bit. If I had anything to suggest to help you get into writing that story, I’d say maybe just sit and write a few sentences a day. It could be anything from how your day went to a starting line for your story or just a random list of things that will only make sense to you. I often find that when I’m having trouble writing something, it’s usually because I’m sitting with choice paralysis rather than just thunking down some carp on a page. Sometimes the carp hides hidden butterflies and gems. Sometimes it’s just good old down-to-earth carp. And sometimes I just need to give into my urges to “run away” for a little while and hide. Or hermit as I like to call it. Eventually the bug will crawl inside of me and get me writing again. If you ever want a writing group or partner, or just someone to talk to on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, I’d love to start a writing group with us/for us. It’s always nicer to have fellow creatives to bounce through the universe with. Some of my favorite writing has often come from ideas that others have sparked while we’re just doing drafts and sharing. Of course, my most favorite thing is cooperative story-telling; my past is littered with the shells of WoW characters that had epic, transformative stories because of the other people playing their amazing characters in ways that made everything feel so very alive.

Shoutouts in particular to:

The Duchy of Westbrook (Silver Hand)
Caelestis Templares (Silver Hand)
Vanni (Silver Hand)
Slaighe (Silver Hand – he will always be Chani’s first love)
The Dark Lantern Society (Wyrmrest Accord; I love and miss ALL OF YOU!)
The Blood of Arathor (Moonguard)
Silas/Darion Madoran (You know who you are, and I wish I could remember our guild names, but they’re failing me right now; you’re exceptional).
All the people of the Seventh – Hadrian, without you, Adrelena died; Fennie–I miss you. Sorry that I disappeared on all of you into other characters; I realize now that this is likely why you stopped including me in your stories and your worlds. Again,…I’m sorry. Find me again some day, please. I adored you all even if I acted like a complete dumdum at the end.

Agggh! I’m forgetting so, so many guilds and people here. It’s been nearly 20 years of beautiful collaboration with odd, wonderful, strange, amazing writers and creatives, and each one of them has touched my heart in more ways than I can count. In spite of just being another person on the other side of a keyboard, they changed me and helped me to become who I am today–both the good and the bad. But we learn as we go, and hopefully those we’ve hurt and who have hurt us can find … some peace–remember the beautiful bits and forget all the stupid junk.

But look at me getting all maudlin. Sorry, Nightsong. Believe me when I say that it is more than frustrating to see a company like Blizzard forget that they’re making games for people to have fun rather than to make money or cater to people whose entire life is driven by some kind of competitive metric (or algorithm). Unfortunately, I think capitalism is to blame for a lot of that nonsense; unless you are productive, you’re worthless–the eternal “numbers go up” necessity instead of “how can I create something that makes the world better–more full of happiness” etc. etc. etc. We’re not robots. We’re not nihilism machines. We’re complicated messes searching for other complicated messes to share the journey with, and sometimes we just get a little lost along the way.

I’m sure you’ll find your words, and if you ever want to talk, you know where to find me. (Right here! grins But also on Discord as Argentrose).

As for the weekend, my love and I had a wonderful time drinking and eating and drinking some more. If you’re into beer and have excess money to spare, the Firestone-Walker Anniversary Beer event is …a must, in my book. It’s just really well done and somewhere that fellow beer peeps can languish in the love of the craft brew. I think our favorite brewery there was Private Press Brewing. We were marveling at how few people were in the lines there, because they’re an invite-only brewery–as in, you can’t get their beers unless you’re a member of their rather exclusive buy-in-only membership, and they only have a certain number of those. The wait-list, we’ve heard, is long. But the beer! I kind of wish we’d managed to get back there before we left, but we’d have been hosed–as in, unable to walk back to our hotel without bleary-eyed unhappiness.

The group we crashed with on Friday night rather did Cer in. laughing I managed to keep my head, thankfully, but those people are wonderful beer fiends–and wine fiends. I also managed to get some work done for my poetry marathon poems under a breezy, shaded, giant tree whose leaves glittered golden in the sunlight and were a calming, shadowed, deep hunter green against the most wonderfully blue sky. Birds. Bugs. But always the wind moving, as if it had somewhere else to be. laughing That’s okay, though. I got by on shade, leaf-hiss, and that kind of quiet that can only exist when the background soundtrack is “life happening over there”–people talking, laughing, drinking; birds just chatting and checking the branches and the girl below their nesting boughs. I’ve always loved just hearing all of that noise but not really being a part of it; it’s easier to love chaos when you’re not in the thick of it.

Anyway…we had some lovely tapas after the beerfest at this place called Junction–tapas and paella! I cannot recommend the churros con chocolate, sadly. The wine was wonderful, too, but I think that’s to be expected in Paso–or at least it should be. We had a chard (which was better as it warmed up) and an albarino vintage that was absolutely perfect.

We managed breakfast the next day at the Taste of Paso–this diner that had been built in the house of one of the first settlers there–a doctor. They had the best waffles, and so much butter to drizzle over them. The maple syrup and the bacon and sausage were pretty good, too. I said farewell with a mimosao–just one, before we hit the road to come home.

It’s a beautiful, sparkling memory in my mind.

Update, though!

At a recent dinner event at our favorite restaurant–Detention, we were sat next to a couple with whom we happened to share a few words before sharing some drinks, as I’d overheard the fellow talking about the next big solar eclipse–with six and a half minutes of totality! Suffice to say, we’re now planning a trip to Luxor, Egypt to capture the event. I love all things that wander the sky; so, getting my other half to be as excited and committed as I was to something like this was–pure magic–like snorting unicorn glitter and fantastical forest chaos kinds of bliss. Plus, I’ve never been to Egypt; so, …there’s that.

Anyway…that’s a few years off down the road, but I wanted to share that bit of sparkler that keeps sending sparks throughout my thoughts.

On a not-so-exciting front, I have to get a colonoscopy right before the Fourth of July, but I figure I can then ostensibly pig out the day of, since I’ll have been more or less starving myself for four days before-hand. This is due to agreeing to help out with a study that they’re conducting. I don’t want to say more than that for now, but hopefully what I’m helping with will change the world of digestive science for the better–for all of us. So…a little silver lining for the suffering I will endure in the name of my own personal health. yay!

And I guess that’s it for now. I survived the weekend, and I hope you all did, too.

with much Love and lots of Hugs,

~~ Jenni and Chani
