Honestly I’d be content with getting some priority on my next que if I joined an in progress game.
I’ve been just declining que’s that pop to quickly, it’s not always something bad but normally is. Fresh game only que’s though would likely harm bg participation if you could expect nearly every game to end after the first team fight. It kind of already feels that way sometimes but bg closures would skyrocket.
If a game last less then time waited in que though 100% should be given priority on new game.
Account wide deserter that ticks down while online only would be a good start. Had a guy in IOC mention that he has 8 toons he cycles through, so afk’ing was no big deal.
Before I hear “blame the premades, not the afk’ers”, I am 100% certain that the team that loses first team fight in an honest 40 pug vs. 40 pug bg will lose a significant portion of their team to afk. For some reason, folks feel like first fight will determine outcome everytime. EVERY bg can be turned around after first loss.
Premade raids have taken over epic bgs during prime time and they’ve hammered into pugs that there’s very little chance that things will turn around after the first fight.
It’s extremely unlikely that pugs will turn things around against a premade raid.
With the prevalence of premade raids, pugs aren’t going to stick around to try to figure out if they’re facing a premade raid or not.
It’s not like there’s a flashing yellow sign saying, “In this bg, you’re not facing a premade raid. This match is actually an honest 40 pug vs. 40 pug battle!”
The interaction I mentioned happened at 10am est time. I know that wasn’t your point. I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but every loss can’t be blamed on premades. My other point was that now people afk out to “value their time” while simultaneously sending the backfiller into the wood chipper. Starting a bg against a premade is bad, backfilling into a bg against a premade is worse.
What about the people who quit out of wsg when they go down 0-1? Listen, I am not a fan of premades either, but if blizzard refuses to do anything about them, and “There are premade’s running almost constantly…” why queue up then? When you afk, you are also punishing the person that has to take your place.
You can’t be serious… Don’t play the game you pay to play because of cheaters and if you do suffer through the stomping these cheaters are doing or else you should be punished… that’s your argument.
