Popeyes better in every possible way. Only con of Popeyes is the poor management and training that results in rng temperatures for your food
In USA I haven’t lived anywhere near a Church’s since 2008, but there was always a Popeyes to fill the gap.
Here in Philippines KFC has dominated that even McDonald’s and Wendy’s (but not BK) offer fried chicken. Nearest Popeyes to me is a 60km road trip away (as is Taco Bell & Tim Hortons)
At some point the franchises no longer were able to buy local but had to buy company prefered pre-packaged items. Thats my theory at least.
edit. I’ve been out of the loop on face food joints for a while now though.
Arby’s was my first job out of high school . For thee first month I could only work register because I wasn’t old enough to work the slicer (had to be 18)
There’s a bunch, the one in Booty Bay is the best though.
Dollar menu . I’m so old I remember in the 80s when Taco Bell had a .59 cent menu
Tacos (hard and soft ) Tostada, cup of refried beans and bean burrito .
Me and my buddy could eat like kings and were only making like $3.35 /hour
I wish there was a Popeyes near me. We have a bunch of chicken places but not Popeyes!
I like Church’s, Chick-fil-a, and Cane’s too, but when I want real chicken and good sides, Popeyes beats them.
Not me… I drive past one on the way to work and I remember the name had me look twice the first time, thinking I just might start to go to Church now.
… my brain is a weird thing.
That photo really makes me want to go next time I pick up lunch on the fly, though!
Popeyes is literally the most horrible fried chicken I’ve ever tasted. NO taste. NO seasoning. Just bland, no joy, tasteless ‘I can’t even believe people buy this’ chicken.
I was born again after switching from KFC to Church’s Chicken.
I started eating KFC back in the '70s and the look, taste and quality of the chicken, fries, gravy and macaroni salad stayed pretty consistent thru to the 2000s.
Then around 2010-12, it all took a severe nose dive. The white meat was often dry, the dark meat tasted… off, the coating became thinner and greasier, the gravy and macaroni salad both became watery, and they stopped filling their containers to the top.
After bringing back three different orders and getting no satisfaction, I gave up and haven’t been back since.
I just looked and, in our city, we used to have at least fourteen outlets, including three in mall food courts; we are now down to three in total with none in any of the malls. Even the downtown one is gone.
I think that says it all.
We don’t have any Popeyes here in Europe, at least I’m not aware of any. What kind of fast food chain is Popeyes?
I love their popcorn shrimp. It’s the cheapest popcorn shrimp around and really close. Their Mac and Cheese is also good.
Popeyes is best, always has been!
I enjoy Arbys now and then.
Fried Chicken.
If I am gonna do take out chicken, it’s Chik-fil-a all the way for me.
How is this WoW related?
Well, Leeroy had chicken.
Popeyes is good chicken
I’m just the opposite… Give me the 11 herbs and spices original recipe… Popeyes while moist is pretty flavorless. Although they do have good beans but the rest is pretty mediocre.
Popeyes is all around awesome, while the only decent thing KFC has is the Famous Bowl, so it’s no competition at all.
