Admitting you were ever aligned with KFC is worse than saying you thought the jailor’s story was a good one
Just say you love Popeyes and call it a day. We have one in Stormwind btw. Faction change is only a click away

if you think Popeyes is good, you should try Chick-fil-A. Line around the building for a reason.
My family has basically done the opposite, because our Popeye’s stopped serving Cajun rice and my dad was so offended by this, he gave up his brand loyalty. I gotta say, KFC’s mashed 'tatoes and gravy are awesome. But honestly, coming from a Cajun himself, the best fried chicken is the kind your Maw-Maw homemakes in her kitchen for lunch.
Mmm, with a big glass of sweet tea.
I miss their wedges so much… I have not forgiven them since their fries are just not good.
If one peals off the greasy breading from any of these shops one finds they all consist of bland, over-bred and unappetizing chickens. It’s just kind of convenient and overpriced Shake and Bake.
I have 3 LJS within 30 minutes here in the Midwest. It’s been since last year that I had it—I think—but now I’m craving some LJS chicken planks (I only tolerate their fish…if I want fish, I go elsewhere). I really miss their old fries from past decades that had that greasy batter coating (the lemon-pepper waffle-cut fries were not as good but fine; I don’t like their current fries very much). They were nice and almost as greasy as the floors in the average Long John’s.
LJS is pretty bottom-of-the-barrel quality but I get a craving for that uniquely grease-soaked taste sometimes.
Popeyes , Churches and KFC are all ok but I’ll take a fresh batch from my local grocery store any day .
We don’t have wedges anymore either, and that is why I no longer have KFC.
I think the Popeye’s recipe is significantly inferior to KFC, but KFC has been cost cut so badly it has devolved into all sorts of pre-prepared garbage that it isn’t near as good as it should be, while Popeye’s still makes their stuff fresh. As a result Popeye’s is better. Whoever the KFC executive is that keeps pushing for cost cutting over quality needs to be removed before the franchise fails completely.
Though I made a comment about getting Long John Silver’s greasy chicken plank cravings, I didn’t actually mention the chicken place that is my fast-food goto: Zaxby’s.
I’ve been known to go to Lee’s Famous Recipe like once a year as well for some nostalgia because my grandma always swore it was better than KFC. I also get Joella’s Hot Chicken, but that’s a pretty small chain compared to the others, and it requires an hour drive for me to get. But if I’m in the area…
My favorite when I was younger was Druther’s if anyone remembers them. When I moved back from Tinley Park to southern Indiana a few years ago and realized there was still one Druther’s hobbling along in Kentucky, I drove about 150 miles to eat their chicken. It was far from the amazing food as I remembered (, and I’m not sure if that was a good use of a day off; however, I went again on a whim a year or so ago because… I guess it reminds me of stopping at them because my grandpa liked it so much. The wedges were still great though even if the chicken itself was sub-par.
Albertsons has pretty good fried chicken in their deli section if you happen to live near one.
THat is where I get mine
Where I live all the Albertsons changed to Save Mart
Its an out-of-the-way trip though because their prices on other stuff is not so great, they remind me of Vons.
Interesting. Spend Mart must have been taken.
There is only one of those around where I live. I believe it’s a KFC/Long John Silver combo restaurant.
There are probably a dozen or so within an hour, with the couple of combo ones (there were more a couple years back) being LJS/A&W. However, I’m pretty close to the Yum! HQ, so that probably makes a difference (if though they are no longer directly under the Yum! umbrella).
I’ve had those guys sprint faster than Usain Bolt to give me a straw they forgot to put in the bag. The door still somewhat ajar as they apologized, thanked me for my patience and walked back to the establishment.
