Considering blizz history of nerfing raids mid/late phase and the accelerated release schedule for cata classic i think imo its about time we start talking about this tier’s raids nerfs.
It will allow casuals to progress faster and increase the hype for firelands, thoughts?
Even though my guild would benefit from it, it’s too early for that. Firelands is still a few months away unless they push it up - which I hope they do.
Who knew the 10-man roster boss would still be as difficult as the 25-man?
We’re already doing the raids in their post-nerf state.
I have cleared all the raids and am currently starting to try heroics.
we dont even have ZA and ZG released and there’s a ton of qol that would be nice to add considering the fast phased expansion and you want them to raid nerfs… sure would be cool but in the long list of priorities…

The raids don’t need nerfs, they’re fine.
Normal mode is already in post nerf state, it’s just heroic that’s in post hotfix 1 state. The only nerf they should even really consider is increasing the number of drops by raid bosses to help accommodate the faster release cycle.
Or maybe I’m just bitter because we’ve killed… I think 19 heroic bosses that drop weapons and my raid team is currently 2 out of 17 slots we need to fill for weapons/offhands all while DEing usually both items from the respective bosses.

Would also like to point out, technically these raids are nerfed, just indirectly…
They are the 4.1 versions, which is already easier, but we’re also on 4.3.4 class balance changes, which is a pretty massive buff for most classes.
- Pyroblast’s initial damage has been increased by approximately 26%, and its damage over time has been increased by approximately 100%.
- Fireball damage has been increased by approximately 17%.

- Fire
- Living Bomb damage over time has been increased by approximately 10%, and explosion damage has been increased by approximately 120%.
- Combustion’s damage over time can now hit critically.

If you really wanna have a good time, go look at all the patch notes from 4.1-4.3… all of those are in place, and most of them were bug fixes/buffs, very VERY few nerfs ever happened. So it compounded into significantly stronger classes going into DS than what we had in t11. And we are playing with those DS level classes now… All of this kinda makes me lean heavily towards don’t nerf the raids.
Just to give you an idea… right now unholy dk’s put in some crazy damage. But in original launch cata, one of their big dps CD’s (unholy might) gave 5% strength, in 4.2 it was buffed all the way up to 20%. But if you only look at 4.3, it looks like “Hey it went from 20-25% that’s not a big jump!!”. But from the original 4.0.6/4.1 unholy DK, they got a 20% str increase buff on a major CD lmao.
Another huge one, until 4.3, holy paladins holy radiance was a CD, not a spammable ability. and their beacon could be dispelled/only did 50% of healing even from holy light.
Man I really wish we’d gotten a 4.0.6 version of the game, it woulda been hilarious to see people struggle
Some other big ones from 4.3.0:
Tank threat increased from +300% to +500%
Explosive Shot damage increased by 15%
Elemental Fury now removes the cooldown on Chain Lightning
It’s not all buffs though, Wild Growth got nerfed by 20% in that patch. Swipe also got a fairly large nerf. Wind Shear went from 6s CD to 15 untalented. Dual Wield Specialization no longer increases physical damage dealt by 5% for warriors. Fury is literally dumpster tier because of that!
Yea, but look at the compounded stuff, 4.1/4.2 gave massive buffs across the board as well
Sheeeesh in 4.2 heals were changed to do 200% on crit instead of 150%. What a massive buff!

When you get the Buff in last phase only hard cast pyro.
whispers “Wrong.” According to the mage discord, pyro is only better when it’s down to a 1.25 second cast.

I didn’t even look at the cast speed with the buff, it’s just way funner to hurl meatballs.
