It's time we addressed the important question

I mean if they actually let us see monsters fighting and don’t hide the whole spectacle in a thunderstorm and night or a blizzard or whatever, I’ll watch it

I hate to be that guy, but I have a better question:

Who the hell cares?

i’m still pushing the idea that draenei are the root evil of the lore and have inadvertently caused all of azeroth’s problems

Makes sense. Kong can be the new Grong. Horde hates monke, remember the Dakani.

It cost you $0.00 to come in this thread and whine, and yet you did anyway.

It is quite fascinating how many people came out of the woodwork to let us know how little they care about our kaiju fun as though any of us can hear them complaining over the clashing of titanic icons.

Kong uses an axe. Axes is preferred weapon of Horde.

Therefore, Kong favors the Horde and has rejected lyin’ lion.

You misunderstand the purpose of my question. Fair enough.

The theaters are closed and will be for some time, and I doubt they’ll be open even when this movie does release. The entire point of the movie industry is to get butts in seats and blast your ears off with THX sound while you stare goggle-eyed at a ginormous screen the size of your entire living room and then some and watch the action as it unfolds very much larger than life (at least, when it’s just stupid humans involved).

I cannot imagine a less desirable experience than watching a brand-spanking-new movie…in your living room. By yourself. With no (overpriced, yes but utterly amazing) movie theater popcorn (or your oversized king candy of choice) to gorge on in the process.

Am I suddenly such an old fuddy-duddy that people want to watch movie premieres at home?

I don’t get it. That’s all.

Overall I agree that I’d rather watch new movies, especially ones that are all about spectacle, in theatres, but there is no way in heck that I was getting that point out of what you originally posted.

Rahmestos does because Rahmestos came into the thread to post, which shows they cared enough to enter the thread, read enough to come up with something, and then post that something.

Theaters are a trap of overpriced nonsense, and being jam packed between people I don’t know has never been an appealing time to me so personally? Home theater time works out.

I have a big enough TV, surround sound, and I can make whatever snacks I want. I make better popcorn myself than anything they sell at concession stands. So… yeah, no, I see zero problems with watching the movie at home.

But seconding the part of that not being what anyone could gather from your original post. I don’t think anyone present is a mind reader. Well, as far as you all know I’m not.

But, some theaters have been opening. Depends on the restrictions in your area. And of course, if you want to go sit in a darkened, enclosed space with plague rats. Oh, and there are still some drive-in movie theaters around. The first Godzilla movie I ever saw was at a drive-in when I was but a wee lass - several decades ago. But I digress. Yes, there are some movies that are better watched in the theater.

Ah yes, because this statement:

Logically leads to your whole statement. That makes total sense.

Except not really.

Anyway, to address your main concern: you can be just as excited for a movie in your home as in a theater. Home is comfortable, refreshments cheap, and you can pause the movie for a bathroom break if required.

Theaters are none of those (unless you pay big bucks for those fancy seats) but do have a better sound system.

In any event, the Godzilla and Kong showdown is (currently planned to be) both in theaters and at home, so you can enjoy it any which way your misguided heart desires.

In closing, please elaborate your questions next time because in no way would we ever extrapolated what you wanted from what you posted.

My friends and I have been doing virtual movie nights threw the pandemic and it rules and will always be better than going to a theater.

Anyway I’m just here to hype up Amano’s Shin Ultraman coming out this year!?!?!

I’m confused at the people who come in with the attitude are getting offended at having said attitude called out?

People hate when you use logic to point out the flaws in their illogical behavior.
