Face it Horde, I’m tired of seeing half of my once beautiful city in ruins from the scourge that Arthas lead, we have the necessary tools and magic to do it, it’s time we finally get to work on rebuilding our great city, all of my brethren agree to this, you cannot put it off any longer!
Nah.
They can’t.
They’d have to re-do the entirety of TBC content to do that. Or they’d have to probably create entirely separate instanced zones to represent the Blood Elf areas and…actually, I was going to say like the BFA updated zones, but those are layered on the existing ones, right? So it’d still fall into the “would have to re-do all of TBC” problem.
Or they could just take Quel’Thalas out of the TBC instance and put it on the EK map proper, like they should’ve done in Cata.
I think with a.) the Sunwell back online, b.) access to Tauren (and Troll) druidry, and c.) what we learned growing an Arcandor in Suramar, we could replace the Eversong mother-tree, and heal the Dead Scar, too.
I am fine with the Ghostlands remaining a cursed forest (a la Duskwood, or Felwood), but given recent events on the part of the Late Ranger General, I do feel the Forsaken there have overstayed their welcome.
Silvermoon City? Yes - let’s restore that processional way, and reclaim the western half. Finally.
Another wish list item for 10.0.
That reminds me of the only way I’d have enjoyed an Eversong warfront: if it became a chaotic mess with a lot of friendly fire on both sides and a reconciliation quest of sorts where the elf subfactions have to deal with a scourge incursion together
Like ally elf commanders going after human troopers over trying to attack villagers, velf/helf tensions, belves having quests to go after horde subfactions for trying to bring blight or one of the goblin deforestation mechs (between Halduron and the tauren cenarion rep I can’t imagine either tactic flying without being massively OOC), a token non-elven commander on each side trying to wrongly finger people on their own side as spies. I wouldn’t be satisfied without a complete mess.
Anyway a dumb wish to add to the Silvermoon resto: I do wish the northernmost villages in Ghostlands were showed as reclaimed, especially Goldenmist, the one on the river island, even if swathes of it staying very cursed around the ziggurats isn’t unlikely.
Also bring some hope to Ranger Riverwind at Scorched Grove and have her tend to the regrowth of a blight-free Grove there with the spirit of Whitebark. Or have quests with that apprentice who had you gather soil samples, this time with a renewed dedication to the idea that there has to be a way to reclaim scarred lands.
Also a hub on Shalandis, and yes it should still play the old Shalandis theme. It could be restored Sunsail’s southern equivalent, a second seaport town (third if Goldenmist is fixed). Include a statue of Gallel in one of the ports.
Memorials to the fallen, also. Instead of text just something like how it’s a seemingly endless list of elven names.
Except they can’t. TBC is all spaghetti code and it all exists on top of each other as part of the same map.
In theory they could probably use portals between the BC starting zones under Outland and the new versions to do the thing the Bronze flight does in Blasted Lands and the zones bfa tore apart, but yeah it’s different, they’d still have to scratchbuild this stuff.
It’s always funny when the world map clearly doesn’t show either Quel’thalas or the Azure isles because they’re not in the Azeroth worldspace.
I’d imagine High Elves that didn’t previously take the Blood Elf name, for what ever reason (perhaps lack of choice like the OL ones) are slowly returning too and I hope to see that reflected in an updated Quel’thalas zone under the Blood Elf banner of course
We see this claim a lot in the forums. But somehow when Blizzard wants to do something forumgoers claim can’t be done, they find a way.
They could just put a second story bridge from one side of Silvermoon City to the other. I think that would be a nice touch.
If they find a way to make merc mode work in PVP without forced race swaps, I’ll truly believe they can fix the spaghetti code for Azuremyst and Quel’thalas.
Until then, I’m not holding my breath.
don’t worry guys, 10.0 is gonna fix everything wrong with the game
They could just create an entirely new zone, from scratch, to be the new Quel/Silvermoon, but they couldn’t have it work like the other zones, where you can just Bronze shift from one or the other. It’d have to be like Old Dalaran vs. New Dalaran.
After the backlash they got when they played around with the EK and Kalimdor in Cataclysm I’d be surprised if they ever return to old zones again.
They sure are running out of places to go on the map now though. They might just be forced to do another Cataclysm type revamp on retail now.
They literally did in a PTR. I remember flying right into it. They hadn’t updated it, so when you crossed over from Ghostlands to Eversong you were instantly dismounted with no parachute. By the time that patch came live, they had given up and it was back in the TBC instance.
Only way Silvermoon is getting overhauled is if Blizz decides to have some god come and attack Ghostlands and make Silvermoon the hub for that xpac. If they do decide to do that I, as always, humbly request they use Zidormi so original Silvermoon is still in place
While I love Silvermoon and would love to see it updated, I know Blizzard is bias against Blood Elves and would just give it to some other race that shall not be named.
I would rather remain in an unupdated buggy zone but still be able to use the zone then have the zone updated and taken away.
I don’t expect one anytime soon. Honestly, the night elves/forsaken are probably ahead of you in terms of new capital.
CAN'T?!?
Would it require breaking the laws of physics in order for it to be done? I don’t think you mean “can’t” I think you mean “too much work”.
It can be done but Blizz doesn’t want to invest the time to do it which is fine, it’s their game and they decide what they spend time working on but there’s no way it can’t be done.
