It just looks to me like they’ve ran out of ideas…

And thematically, I would say DH is the worst one. Looks cool, yes. Looks like a DH set, definitely not.

Death knight: A+ (i think the shoulders should be bigger, and it feels like they missed a final touch, the cherry on top on the helmet and shoulders)
Demon hunter: A+ (it has plate parts on it something other dh sets don’t have, its a fusion concept of warden with aniquilus… its great)
Druid: B at least, it looks cool… thats it.
Evoker: B, its kinda nice… but not amazing like stuff we saw before, the last season one was god tier.
Hunter: S (come on, look at the hunter sets since classic… then look at the black red color of this set, you look like dracula, its amazing)
Mage: A+ (most mage sets don’t even itch me, so this one does a bit which says a lot)
Monk: S do i even need to say why?
Paladin: A well its good… but there are other ones that are just like this one.
Priest: C what were they thinking???
Rogue: A i don’t particularly like it, but for a haunted ship pirate set, they nailed it.
Shaman: B its cool, but feels like the younger brother of the lightning set for shaman
Warlock: B shoulder and helmet is good, the rest is thrash
Warrior: A it looks good… but its missing what would have took the potential for this look into amazing

The Hunter set is a “what were they thinking?” I honestly think they took an old unused DK set from a previous expansion that they had laying around because they must be sitting on hundreds of designs they drew up but never made it into the game. This just isn’t a Hunter set and no one will convince me otherwise.

I’ll give my quick impression of each:

DK: A very good set for the class. Looks a little too much like the ICC gear but that fits the theme of the class. This is the only one I would call S tier.

DH: It’s alright. I’d give it a B. Honestly if they swapped this one with the Hunter set it would make more sense. The skulls on the “Hunter” set would thematically work better for DH and this one wouldn’t look bad on Hunters.

Druid: I’ll agree that it’s a C because it’s just kind of a boring run of the mill Druid set. Not memorable. Looks like rehashed designs combined from various other previous sets.

Evoker: maybe a B. not great or terrible.

Hunter: I think it’s the worst of the bunch and would only make sense for DK or maybe DH. If there’s still time Blizz should swap the sets for Hunter and DH honestly it makes way more sense if they were switched out.

Mage: The different variations appear to be fire & ice themed. If they could make this automatically switch colors when the mage changes spec, then it would be an A. I think the head is too big to match the size of the shoulders, which should always be in proportion. Drogonball Z vibes.

Monk: The set just seems unfinished. More like a concept drawing than a finished tier set. I want to like it but I’ll give it a B. If they polished up the textures and made it look more finished it could rank much higher.

Paladin: I’d need to see it live but this is an A to S tier pally set. Fits the class perfectly. Design is familiar yet doesn’t look like every other pally set. Not boring like the Druid set. I like.

Priest: again the size of the shoulders doesn’t match the head. Again it seems unfinished like the Monk set. I’d downsize the head and/or bring up the shoulders a little so the proportions don’t look so off. B tier.

Rogue: At least they’re trying to do something. It’s not amazing. Again I’d say it seems sort of unfinished, but I’ll give it a B.

Shammy: I’ll give it a C. Again I just find it uninspired. It’s sort of what you’d expect for a Shammy set but there’s nothing memorable or really eye catching about this.

Warlock: B tier. It looks more proportionate than several others. The colors are vibrant. At least it’s not boring.

Warrior: A tier. I like it I just wouldn’t give it S tier because there are several other warrior sets I’d rank above this but it’s a good look for warriors. Very recognizable look for their class without being a direct copy of one of their old sets. Colors are good. Proportions are good. It works.

Yeah, like it’d be right at home in Nathria or Sanctum of Domination. But we’ve seen this thematic too much by this point and it’s basically just a worse execution of the Sylvanas thematic than other sets we’ve had before, including the Trading Post set.

C+Ping my thoughts from a different thread.>

Death Knight. Good detail, I like the colourations. Feels like there’s a colour that matches every Death Knight thematic. A tier set if the animations are good.

Demon Hunter. Cool thematic, kinda makes them look like Legion Mech versions of Wardens. Would be cooler if it didn’t look like plate. B tier.

Druid. Good theme (I like when they lean into the decay/drust aspect for Druids). Good execution. Good colouration. Not an outstanding set, but definitely above average IMO. B+, low A tier if animations are good.

Evoker. Looks ok in human form but bad in Evoker form. D tier. Blizzard need to focus WAY more on the belt/shoulders for Evoker tier since you can’t see anything else when you’re actually fighting. Having a cool helm or chest is largely pointless.

Hunter. It’s a Hunter set, that’s for sure. Has the same thematic but worse execution than the Sylvanas set we got from the trading post. C tier.

Mage. I REALLY like this set but only the blue/brown and the blue variation. If it has good spell effects, easy A tier, S tier if spell effects are cool.

Monk. S tier. No notes, best set Monks have ever gotten.

Paladin. It’s a Paladin set I guess. Average, but not in a negative connotation. B tier if it has cool spell effects.

Priest. I think it’s mandated that Priests MUST have a hat that looks absolutely godawful on at least 70% of their sets. C tier set without the hat. D with it.

Rogue. Not as good as the Monk tier, but pretty damn close. S tier.

Shaman. Kinda reminds me of Shaman T6 but worse. Blizzard really don’t have any sauce when it comes to mail sets. C-

Warlock. Depends entirely on the spell effects on shoulders/helm. If they’re good, S tier. A tier if they’re mediocre. Shoulders go insanely hard though. They’re like the polar opposite of the Priest helm in how much they carry the set.

Warrior. It’s a Warrior set. Clean, but not incredibly interesting. B, B+ with cool spell effects.

Honestly this might be the worst set of tier sets they’ve ever made…

First Tier is the best in years to me. This is a drastic fall off.

Priest is A, but Rogue is D?

That’s like your opinion man and a bad one.

Imo you can’t just ranked them based off the normal colors.

You gotta see all the colors/sets.

For me, Monk is an S for the Heroic recolor alone, and that’s what I’ll be chasing.

And this is my Monk- you can see why I want that set lol. Red is his color.

My brother in christ, Sepulcher was only the expansion before last.

We don’t talk about Shadowlands

Look me in the eye and say that ANY set from the new raid looks worse than this.

Makes everyone look like a Priest or Paladin, to me. Too much gold.

Kinda like how all the DF sets from Season 1 were all made of rocks and fire, so everyone looked like a Shaman.

I’m very glad that after Sepulcher and Vault they stepped back from trying to theme class sets around the raid and just trying to make class sets that look good for each class.

Only Warriors and Shamans made it out of Vault with half decent sets and nobody made it out of Sepulcher.

then go see the mop ones and come back here later

You don’t even need to look back that far. Vault and Sepulcher overall were real stinkers on the tier front.

Personally I think the upcoming sets are above average. There’s some good ones, some REALLY good ones and some pretty mediocre ones. I could understand someone not being as jazzed as I am, but thinking this set comes CLOSE to the worst tier sets is levels of delusion that should be called out.

Yea, they look better.

I don’t agree, it’s not delusion, it’s an opinion.

So are PVP and PVE sets marked correctly? I dont want my elite sets to look green or purple. Dammit.

I didn’t want to put too many images in the OP so I just went with the default colour of each set. But yes, you are right that some of the recolors drastically change some of the sets.
