The fact he didn’t die week 1 because of his HP pool (and it wasn’t close), is proof he was overtuned.
The top guilds shouldn’t need gear upgrades to clear content strictly because of HP vs a berserk timer. If they do, they are overtuned and will need nerfs, not gear upgrades for the vast majority of the players to have a chance.
People keep saying this pathetic argument that it’s too early to nerf when they don’t realize this boss will never be killed this phase unless a Nerf happened. Mostly noobs with green parses.
Yeah, old bosses with virtually no mechanics should never be the hardest fights of a tier just because you can’t possibly meet the DPS check.
That should be the easiest fight in the tier. The berserk timer should only be relevant to keep average/above average guilds from trivializing tantrum by bringing 4-5 extra healers.
It would appear the nerf is now live, updated HP is 25M after the heart dies. Thanks for the adjustment, Blizz! Looking forward to trying this fight out tonight. Heart HP also reduced from 10M to 5.4M.
If the top guilds, with access to a stacked groups of all players that are in the 95+ percentile on performance are falling over 30% short of the berserk timer, they would struggle to kill it “with time” as gear upgrades don’t provide that much of a DPS boost over a phase on a 6 minute fight.
If that’s your viewpoint where the game is well balanced, where only the best of the best players and group comps can expect to kill a boss during the phase, then you are making content that might as well not exist for the vast majority of the player base.
Anyone else is better off simply not attempting it until it gets nerfed or they are well geared from the next raid.
If you want a reasonable number of people to be able to be in that “it’s just a matter of time” category, it needs to be killable (with difficulty) by the top guilds on opening night.
If most of your raid decked out in the best gear the raid has to offer and still doesn’t do enough dps to over come it, then yes a nerf is warranted.
However, if only a small portion of your raid (its only been what 1 week? 2 weeks?) has the best gear from the current raid tier, any sort of complaining of it being impossible is just plain laziness.
Like in Naxx 40. “Boss X is impossible. You must use consumes or world buffs”. No, it isn’t. You only need to if you want to kill it week 2 or 3.
And frankly, when i call the Classic player base a bunch of scrubs, it’s this mentality I’m talking about. And this scrubby mentality spans across all gaming genres. The fact that people don’t want to put in work or time, but still want to “win”, but complain if they don’t.
When the best optimized guilds in the world get a 4 minute kill in the new XT, and his health was about halved, that would have put them on track for an 8 minute kill (2 minutes behind his berserk timer). Gear just flatly wouldn’t give them enough of a boost to make that a comfortable kill during this phase. It wasn’t laziness. It was just flatly badly tuned.
The nerf puts it in range that the top guilds are already killing it, and the mid range guilds are now in the range where gear will get them there if they aren’t able to do it now. That’s pretty much perfect.
If you cannot do it just accept it and move on, people are going to clear it. Stop asking for content to be nerfed just so you can complain Classic is too easy.
EXCUSE ME do you know who you are talking to? That’s not some fresh-faced adventurer straight out of Northshire Abby. That’s a Champion that has the TITLE The Immortal. This individual has slayed multiple deities and semi-deities without breaking a sweat. Old Gods? More like Old Blobs. Kil’Jaden? Just another Saturday. Kel’Thuzad, Kael’Thas, Lady Vashj? Illidan? He wiped the floor with those losers. The so called “Heroes” of the Third War are nothing compared to The Immortal.
And here you are, on the precipice of he/she about to make yet another Villain of Azeroth their B**** and you dare DARE say they don’t deserve to have epics mailed to them on demand?
