So… you made me? Funny thing I did, I played “Rotten to the Core” in Brackenhide hollow on the last boss just for the laughs… a Hunter jumping around shooting the boss and summoning pets to Disney’s Rotten to the Core.
I gotta be honest, bard was pretty fun in Lost Ark (hey, remember that game lol). Fun support class.
Eh, you made yourself. I’m just an unoriginal piece of trash that frankly should stop thinking.
I mean, Bard wouldn’t be too bad, especially as a Ranger/Rogue lite that plays a musical instrument… even Priests have staffs and stuff in WoW.
Also we see several enemies use sound (and recently in DF music specifically) to weaponize it…
Eh, the main influences for my Bard was from everyone’s favorite garbage weeb MMO and another garbage MMO thats even weebieer.
Originally was thinking of letting only Night elves and Blood elves be it but decided to let Void Elves and Nightborne in as well. Main weapon would be Bows, Crossbows and Guns. More emphasis on bows really but well can’t just tune out guns… or maybe… err Anyway.
The idea was a magical - song class that gave voice to the spirits, using musical verse and song. That part was from the other MMO. Let’s see if I can link it.

Put this foolish ambitions to rest
Yeah I really don’t see Wow as a bard style game… No thanks.
Bard Class(5e conversion)
Primary Ability: Spirit/Dex
Armor Proficiency: Leather and Cloth
Weapon Proficiency: Swords, Daggers, Maces
Main Damage Types: Spellstrike, Cosmic, Stormstrike
Rather than wielding a ranged weapon, wand, libram, or idol, Bard’s equip their musical instrument of choice. The item type determines the abilities granted. While there is some overlap (see core abilities below) each specialization enhances the abilities granted by a specific instrument.
Specialization:
College of Swords
Instrument: War Drums
Role: Tank
Damage Type: Spellstrike
Description:
You gain proficiency with shields and Mail armor. Your shield may act as War Drums while you have a Sword or Mace equipped. This martial focused Bard enables a familiar playstyle (melee tank). The swords bard’s tankiness comes from Inspiration enhanced avoidance. The most well equipped swords bards are known to avoid all but the mightiest of blows.
College of Lore
Instrument: Horn
Role: DPS/Support
Damage Type: Cosmic
Description:
You gain a wider sense of appreciation for the inhabitants of the world around you. Lore bards gain the Peerless Crafts ability cementing them as the most sought after crafters. Having gained favor with Azeroth herself, they also gain earlier and extra ranks of Bardic Training (see core class abilities below) enabling customization beyond any other class. Can greatly diminish the effectiveness of an enemy by applying various ailments. The cry of their horns instills fear in the hearts of enemies spread across the battlefield.
College of Eloquence
Instrument: Lute/Whistle
Role: Healer
Damage Type: Stormstrike
Description:
The quintessential Bard college increases the effectiveness of your Inspirations and spell casts. Empower you allies with a stirring ballad while simultaneously disrupting your enemies’ attacks. Grants allies enhanced crowd control immunity. Your experiences traveling across Azeroth elicited an incredible ability to speak every language! Improved vendor relations increases vendor buy price by 10% and reduces vendor sell price by 10%. Furthermore hostile enemies will not automatically attack you without provocation.

Allies which remain in range for the entire duration instantly gain bonus health and power (1-6% scaling to 12% at max rank). Additionally allies gain power (mana/energy/rage/focus/runic power) when this ability is used out of combat.
Oblivious (Channeled up to 8 sec, 45 sec cd- Learn @ Level 24) - Allies within 30 feet become immune to disorienting effects while channeling. Any existing disorienting effects immediately end.
Bardic Training: At levels 40, 56, 72, and 80 you may select 2 spells from any class to learn permanently. The spell must be at or below the specified level. (I.e. If you wait to spend them until max level, you cannot then pick 8 level 80 spells, instead you may select 2 spells first from 40 or below, then 56 or below and so on.)
Invisibility (2.5 sec cast, melee range.) Target creature gains the Stealth effect for up to 3 min while you remain out-of-combat. Non-hostile acts will not remove invisibility (opening locks, equipping items) but walking too close to an enemy will still break the effect.
and many more…
Of course this just scratches the surface of the playstyle of the Bard class I imagine. We haven’t even discussed the music they create both in and out of combat or the mechanics they employ. (Hint, after unlocking a specialization it’s not the same experience you’ve had with the other 12 wow classes. ) Even before the now infamous april fools joke of 2008, I had hopes for this class. While an in-game Guitar Hero like experience may be out-of-the-question, I bet we can get close!
You almost got me, you Necro Lord. I’ll give you two Awards.
Bard but also fights with a whip.
