with the increase in account wide unlocks, the transmogs from Mists of Pandaria challenge modes really should be account wide for all classes at this point.
not everybody who did the golds in Mists had every class geared and leveled for golds nor the time. this issue was changed in WOD and the weapons were made available account wide regardless of whether or not your class could use them. other features also as expansions came and went became account wide, please make these account wide.
if I were to ever reroll, knowing that I have golds done but can not use the mogs is kinda silly. my suggestion is this:
make them available as a gold sink to players who did gold CMs at 100k (adjust per inflation or what ever deemed fit per set or unlock it all for 1.1 mil (discounting what ever sets you have unlocked already)
and before people complain that TLDR you didn’t put in the work: mists challenge modes were easy these weren’t difficult by any stretch of the imagination so pretending they were and then trying to gate keep people who earned them how ever they did from other sets isn’t okay, and like other people don’t have 20 + alts.
it’s time make these sets available on other classes if the work has been done, its long over due, this isn’t something hyper rare, its probably some of the best work done on gear sets as well, let people use the other class sets.
I’ve always thought people that completed the MoP gold CM should be able to buy the other class sets with tokens, just like a Mage could buy the 2h sword and mace in WoD.
I still don’t think I would have bothered, but I definitely would have been more inclined to bother if I had known that doing MoP CMs on one class would unlock 12 highly coveted cosmetic sets instead of 1. Seems like a bit of a scam to change the rules after-the-fact.
If people want more MoP-flavored prestige cosmetics, just add new dungeon challenges and use those data-mined recolors for the rewards. And then establish the rules upfront on how the rewards will be dispersed. And also make it clear that the game will continue to get cool cosmetic sets for dungeon content so people can stop lusting after 10 year old cosmetics.
not buying this. especially given they rectified it literally next expansion. and continued to add more account wide unlocks as the game only went on through expansions.
It’s like… they want us to play alts. In this example, you would be FORCED to play an alt.
And yet… once you switch chrs, you lose progress on rep, Achv points, etc etc.
So… which is it??
After 5 years, just bring everything back. It doesn’t have to be as simple as just walking up to a vendor and buying it… but EVERYTHING should be available in some way after 5 years.
The sets are account-wide, but they have a class restriction. If I make a new Mage then tehy can mog the Mage set. Back then you had to do it on each char you wanted the set on.
They gave everybody all four eggs, and then pruned down versions of the sets in legion. We’ll probably see recolors of the sets when they do cm timewalking but hopefully they don’t bring the original ones back.
okay i’m not saying they were the hardest things in the world but this is like saying “it only takes two hours to clear a raid”. sure, if you don’t count the learning part, it’s quick.

and what makes these sets different than the weapons from WOD? I can’t use two handed swords on a mage so should I have the right to that transmog? should I have to run the gold challenge modes again to unlock the two handed weapons? that logic was changed
you have no basis other than I did it so nobody else should get access to it which is just selfish
