It"s real they are doing it

Except you didn’t read the announcement. This just stops cross-realm organizations, guilds and individuals can still sell boosts in Trade Chat. Boosting will still occur.

Most of these are organized on discord, so how exactly do you catch them?

They do. Argent Dawn-EU got spammy until the community pulled together and harassed them back. And yes, AD-EU is known for its hostile french revolution thinking, they do anything to uphold their standards. They are really fierce.

So you can still boost in a guild, but just not in an organized community?

I haven’t read it yet, yes.
They will try to dismantle the problem step by step I guess? Sooner or later those organizations will be focused.

correct. and it sounds like you’re not allowed to do it cross realm.

Have you heard of Gallywix since it got banned?

No, no one has.

It is absolutely enforceable. And while boost for gold won’t go away 100%, since that isn’t the intent, boosting communities getting banned WILL change the game for sure.
Whether its for the better is to be seen. Hopefully

Boosting communities are gone?

There’s definitely some, just a reduced amount. It’s interesting to me Argent Dawn EU had more spammers than MG but still.

I didnt grasp the part about guilds and individuals still being able to sell activies for gold so i guess boosting is ok. just not boosting comunities.

Probably a good thing. Maybe Trade Chat will be more usable now.

I can’t tell if this is supposed to be a joke, or not. Organized on Discord or not, the activities and advertisements still happen in game.

This is good news, I think, but…

“This policy update does not restrict individuals or guilds from using the provided in-game tools (“trade channel” chat) to buy or sell in-game items or activities for in-game currency.”

OK, so what stops “boosting communities” from just forming guilds instead?

What is the difference between a “boosting community” and a “guild that boosts?”

let’s take a moment to remember who is responsible for this change

This will probably lose them a large number of subs.

Do you think people who previously geared alts by boosting because it could be done in a reasonably timely manner that way are going to keep playing, and gear those alts with weeks and weeks of low keys and vaults?

No. They will just play other games instead.

As much as getting rid of spammers is good, it will also cost them more than they realize.

They didn’t outright ban Gallywix. They banned several of the prominent community organisers for RMT so those organisers then shut down the community. Banning select people for RMT is a very different scope to outright banning all boosting communities. It will be trivial for people to work around this and I honestly doubt very many bans will be handed out at all. People are living in a fantasy world if they think boosting will ever be stopped.
