Blizzard admitted somewhere that they had no clue that they were going to have this many subscribers to classic wow. That being said with his widespread is this issue is it would not surprise me if there was some sort of a fix come Tuesday. Or maybe the week after.
It was good for a few years, until everybody was able to be jedi/sith off the bat without doing any of the quests.
I already cancelled my sub until phase 3, maybe 4. I canāt advocate any more strongly than that. Just running out the clock.
The fix will be releasing battlegrounds ahead of schedule like they did for DM.

If the servers are so one sided, even doing cross realm battlegrounds. Iām not sure that just releasing BGs will be the answer. They may try that. But that may not fix it.
wow census and wowhead actually has alliance at a higher overall population than horde across all servers.
Battlegrounds will be fine.

Thatās counting PvE servers as well though. That doesnāt take into consideration if they do battle groups versus all servers in one for Bgs. Thatās why I said that MAY not fix it.

There was no REASON to duplicate the failures of vanillaās release schedule, when they already deviated from it so badly by releasing the game in a 1.12 patch and with so greatly increased a server pop. cap.

It was blizzards decision to keep their gearing systems intact.
high ranked PVP gear is on par, if not better, than BWL gear.
If they released the full patch immediately, gear and all, then it would trivialize further content. The time gating to increase the amount of time between high level PvP gear and the ability to farm honor would create a large imbalance in their raider populace. -shrug-

I would have just opened more servers, and they will see the error of just ASSUMING people would leave when they got bored of āoldā content and balancing their servers around that assumption VS what the hard facts and data proved upon launch.
Day 1 they had to open 20 something servers. I would have kept the original cap of 9k? And just opened another dozen servers if I was blizzard. But they decided they would go with their assumptions of people quitting because they didnt want to have to spend time on server upkeep later in the games life.
Its blizzards fault 100% in the end for being short sighted. Not your fault, not the hordes faultā¦
