That Blizzard changed their mind or fixed their achievement it’s their choice and both are good depending what’s their goal.
The achievement wasn’t obtainable, you couldn’t “buy it”

Telling someone that you can obtain something at any difficulty and not telling people different until 5 days before the event, before hotfixing the error 1 day before the event is misleading as all hell.
I’m usually one of the people saying “This is Blizzard’s game, you don’t always get what you want.” but this is unreasonable even for me.
They knew about this for months and did nothing. They allowed people to make plans around the fact that the cat was going to be available in LFR and did nothing to alert people to their mistake. Hell, to people who don’t come to these forums or read news websites, they didn’t know about the cat not being available in LFR until today.
Go ahead, try to justify the fairness of that.

Fun Fact, there’s like a 99% chance I’ll be removed for the Community Council for not letting this die. But honestly, if that happens, I hope that cements to everyone that Blizzard is indeed not caring about Feedback or the community and it’s all a farce.
I also don’t plan to renew, as I said in another thread. If on the off chance I do renew, it will be through the tokens I already own, so not giving them anything else, and I wouldn’t be playing, it’d be just to post on the forums to let this not die.

They never confirmed you that you could obtain it. It wasn’t released and didn’t get confirmed. Stuff change all the time before release.
That you get a memo 5 days before is actually better than most of the time for Blizzard and reasonable for them.
It. Was. Released.
If the text telling you the reward and how to get it is on live servers, it was released.

What part of an achievement ‘in the game’ that was added in April that says ‘any difficulty’ isn’t confirmation that you can obtain it on any difficulty?

I say 1 week, it will die down. I have faith people will actually try to do it and they will find there was nothing to be afraid and they are more than capable of clearing normal.
Is like the reverse of the mage tower, people were cocky about it and thought they would be able to face roll it, then they came crying for nerfs when they find out they couldnt do it.
You couldn’t obtain it in the game, that’s not semantic. That’s reality.
It was unreleased content.
That they added the achievement too soon is because of how season 4 works, it got bundled with 9.2.5 stuff.

Exactly! And regardless of whether or not it was a mistake, then let that mistake linger for months and misled subscribers by not correcting as soon as they knew, which they knew early because wowhead, mmo-champion, twitter, reddit and these forums were constantly talking about the cat and how they can get it on LFR difficulty.
If you mislead someone, you owe them compensation. That’s a simple reality, otherwise you’ll be seen as scum of the earth and it will be a reputation that is well deserved.
Blizzard misled people. End of story. That’s not up for debate. They owe it to their subscribers to apologize and honor what was written even if it was a mistake.

They don’t owe you anything, that’s the definition of entitlement.
They never officially said it would be obtainable for LFR and they have the right to change their mind before content is released.

Is there a blue post of Blizzard claiming that this mount was originally meant to be from LFR? It sounds like people saw an achievement and made assumptions, deeming it as matter-of-fact. Then getting upset when Blizzard presumably fixes the achievement. Maybe folks shouldn’t make assumptions then? You know what they say about assuming, right?

Did the High Elf topic die off? No.
Things truly die off when they go completely back on their stance (free flying in SL in the old zones while you needed pathfinder in the past).

A topic about a core feature or a highly requested feature is not the same as 1 mount, that you can still get from an easy difficulty, meant for the most casual of casuals.
People will try to get it and then the people crying about will slowly die off or Dragonflight releases and there wont be any point to complain about the cat.

Yea at worse it will take a couple months and will let people that can’t get the mount get forum content I guess xd
I think the better option at this point as a community is to stop the conversation about does lfr deserve x thing or not cause that’s going nowhere fast except for starting fights and instead start directing the casual player base to tools like wowprog to help them find a guild in order to get the mount. Countless people so far on these forums had simply no idea how effective a tool it is to find the most casual of normal guild to raid with that fits whatever sched they have. The fact is that currently lfr does not award it so lets get people into these guilds that are screaming for players so everyone can get it.

I shouldn’t be forced out of the content I want to play to get a reward we’ve been under the impression we’ll get for 3 months.
Again, this would be like if they announced last minute of a patch that the AotC mount was being moved to Mythic.
You know how many heroic raiders would scream and probably quit over it?
This is why I say people don’t treat LFR players like actual players - you act like our content doesn’t matter, when if the same exact scenario was applied to who you consider “real” players - you understand.
Again, the you isn’t in particular to you, just a generalized you.

Sorry pal. You won’t get to afk while in LFR to make a sandwich while your slime cat mount falls into your backpack. You’ll have to settle for Normal. You might actually have to put in a little bit of effort… like lifting a finger… maybe two…
