It's currently terrible to play a priest

I don’t get this, why do the classes / specs with less just argue amongst eachother about who has it worse when theres the pressing issue of how much better the 3-4 good specs are compared to all the rest.

because the op is wrong and obviously getting lots of invites being a spriest, and op is just getting declined by people that have had to carry them in the past for playing spriest so poorly. While warriors struggle for invites at low keys.

you’ll never be the best as long as I’m around (Also I’m sure this mindset is why you don’t get invites, not your spec)

Aren’t priests the best healers in Mythic raiding?

Spirit shell carries disc exceptionally hard in mythic raiding and a lot of top players despise it’s reintroduction. The original post is also mostly, if not entirely focused on shadow, which despite its incredibly fun and warranted redesign definitely has both community perception problems and a lack of desirable m+ utility.

True, but it’s maybe one of the best single target DPS specs in game. So, again, for certain fights it’s pretty nuts.

Is holy not an option or do you just not prefer it? I’ve held off playing a priest since they looked to be FotM coming into the expansion.

Its definitely carved a weird place for itself on single target, but there are better performing specs less hampered by movement that provide more useful things to the raid / have other damage scenarios they also excel in.

Shadows fight is sludgefist, and probably devourer, but other than that definitely more mid pack, then one of the worst for generals and sire. Meanwhile we have dks hunters and mages just invalidating the existence of anything else.

Shadow is one of the best single-target specs in the game. Disc is arguably the best healer in the game, alongside Resto Shaman. Holy has a genuinely incredible niche for the first time in a long time because of Guardian Spirit on Sun-King’s Salvation.

While Priests aren’t some incredibly dominant force in all forms of play, I really feel as though you’re being a bit harsh. Warriors are having a much harder time standing out outside of organized PvP than Priests are, and I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to compare a high-tier spec to Moonkins, Unholy DKs, Fire Mages, or MM Hunters at the moment since those specs provide huge damage and have utility. You just provide enormous single-target.

EDIT: And while he isn’t at the level of folks like Drjay, Gingi, or the other incredible boomkins/mages/hunters/WW monks, I still think Shadowpope’s been doing some incredible work with Shadow in M+. I feel like the spec might end up getting much better when we start pushing into the 23-25 range.

That’s every class in game. Aff does good damage, while destro and Demo are suffering. Priests have a super viable healer spec, and a DPS spec which does great on certain boss fights. No class will have perfect scores for every spec.

Sure, but also I don’t think the two specs with the best aoe should both bring bloodlust and immunities and 20~ second 40 yard range interrupts, nor do I think the best single target spec in the game should bring a healer tier raid mitigation cd, battle Rez, and be immune to half the mechanics of the last boss of the raid.

The disparity between the top and even the middle is insane right now, yet all people wanna do is complain about who has it worse.

Well, that’s an issue with Hunters being super strong right now. I don’t see mages as being overly strong. I’m sure a lot of specs will see buffs sooner or later.

Fire is as good in m+ as mm, probably better if the tank plays around its CDs as they should. Both specs bring lust (Especially now drums are nerfed) mage brings 5% magic damage for the group, both are hilariously mobile and both have a full immunity.

Most classes have a spec that is great for raiding, a spec that is great for M+ and a spec that is great for PvP.

So your only issue is with pug M+ groups?

Which is an issue for about everybody right now because when people see a timer they turn their brains off completely and instantly die and leave after pulling 3 packs (literally saw that in a +12 yesterday).

In PVP Spriest is S tier easily one of the best spec in both 3s and RBGs. Its also amazing in raiding.

What an ego. 2400 from RBG’s or did you hit in 2s/3s?

RBGs obviously, the dead bracket people only use to do boosts for PvERs.

I don’t think priest has a spec that’s “great” at m+. That’s kinda the point. I don’t think lock or paladin does either, and shaman is debatable.

I also don’t think the specs dealing objectively the most damage should have the most well rounded utility kits, especially when blizzard seem to value all utility equally when handing it out, when some is vastly more important than others.

The balance isn’t nearly as bad as the M+ pug world makes it too be.
