Delves are meant to be an end game solo option that gets you to HEROIC RAID item level. If you’ve ever been in a guild and gone through progression in a heroic raid, you know you don’t complete everything in the first week of the season. You fail. Constantly. It’s wipe after wipe after wipe after wipe. Another wipe? Dang. Time to re-up the food… again.
I’ll bet a lot of the people complaining about delves aren’t even enchanting/gemming/using food/using combat potions. Delves are your solo version of heroic raiding. Enjoy the wipes as you get better and better in the coming weeks until you can easily clear all the delves at tier 8 and higher.
Eh “progression” when the loot is massively RNG oriented and only capped to 554 without chance of upgrading it without keys that are also so RNG dependant that you can get 3 cloaks and 5 trinkets…
That’s not progression… it’s just a terrible system in general.
I think you and I share a different meaning of progression here.
I’m pretty sure raiders and people running M+ have RNG if an item will even drop for them at all and then RNG if it’s an upgrade.
I’d argue that the Delve keys give people running Delves better control through the ability to guarantee upgrades - with the tradeoff being that we have a weekly cap whereas players running M+ can keep taking shots at RNG loot drops over and over.
I’d also argue that design is better suited to the players Delves are targeted at. It’s for players that don’t have the time to grind things like M+, and being able to instead guarantee loot drops a few times a week fits that.
I get RNG can be annoying, but this is a subscription model game. They can’t have you just instantly farming perfect gear, otherwise the endgame ends after a few weeks and everybody unsubs.
There probably should be bad RNG protection in place, but RNG will always be a part of the game.
They were advertised as a casual friendly soloable content. There was no mention of it ever equating to any sort of level. Besides a T8 drops champion 4 gear. Or 603. Which is what normal raids drop. Not heroic.
There shouldnt be any one shot mechanics.
Any class of any spec should be able solo each tier with slightly increased difficulty each time
-blizzard was never good with numbers, we all know that
-They saw us having too much fun so they messed it up, a lot of these issues were known since PTR but they never did anything about them
Specifically said there is difficulty, gear there for being let to do things you couldn’t do before. YOu wasn’t sold on casual content. You was sold on a progressive solo friendly content.
Key word here is progressive, gear up, get better at what your doing that is the nature of “Progressive” content. There will be balance passes yes, but if you think this is meant to be a walk in the park where gear and skill don’t matter your in for a surprise.
They’re casual friendly. I’m usually out of them in 20 minutes. Unless by casual you mean “bad player who plays the game like a full time job farming only trivial content.”
It was also conveniently “fixed” the same week that normal/heroic raiding and mythic 0 went live, and the weekend before the reset that will bring mythic+. Coincidence?
Assuming you’re posting in good faith and are just somehow ignorant to the actual complaints people are making, but most of the scaling issues won’t be solved by better gear and gemming and enchanting your equipment.
Right now some mechanics and enemies hit so hard that even if you had the maximum gear available in season 1, you wouldn’t survive them. It’s not a skill or gear issue.
More than likely theyre trying to break the census of groups going in to get their gear faster than the mythic tracks. They probably didn’t think it’d be so popular.
I would love to do a delve only season and completelt skip mythics but they’re making it difficult to do.
Ignoring the above attempts to try an exuse the bad system. Delves were supposed to be something a solo player can accomplish.
Well as a class with no interrupt. I cannot accomplish such things.
Spells like the web bolt doing 1/4th my health each hit. Or a stinging swarm doing 7 million damage in 4 seconds. Is not, solo friendly.
Are you sure? How would you even know until you get the gear that the game itself recommends? If the end result is heroic gear via the great vault, then you should expect to have to jump through the same hoops as a heroic raider. And heroic raiders wipe a TON of times before completing progression.
