It's been two weeks since fresh servers launched and I'm still only level 17

… and I am loving it! I don’t feel the pressure or the need, really, to level up super fast. I have no desire to be “first” to do anything. I am quite literally just taking my time and having fun.

Anybody else not rushing and just taking their time, enjoying the game?

Im sorry but even taking your time theres no way you are only level 17 if you play consistently. You just arent even playing the game. I feel like im going pretty slow doing chill questing and dungeons for quests and im almost 38.

Ditto. But everyone is different I guess. I’ve been taking my time also but maybe some people might not look at it that way when they look at my level.

Yes, as a dad of 43 children and having 12 wifes i have about 0.001 nanoseconds to play each week so I’m taking it very slow and enjoying the journey, tho havent gone past the character creation yet but i can see already just how much better classic is over retail

This makes no sense.
I play every few days few a few hours at a time and I’m not even 20.

I should hit 26 on my Druid/Warlock duo today. Need to do Wailing Cavern and SFK.

I always feel like topics like this are trying to convince themselves that they’re having fun going so slow…

Just did DM as Horde today - was a blast running over there. Is it efficient? Nah, but it’s fun.

I just don’t understand how it’s physically possible to go that slow lol. It’s pretty easy to get to 15 in a single day, so two weeks in and being 17 is pretty wild.

I’m leveling this character with a few handicaps placed on myself and I’m at least in my 40s lol

Some people think playing 2 hours a day is ‘casual’. They have no perspective.

This is how the game is meant to be played. There’s literally no rush, at all. BC will be here this time next year and Outlands quest greens will replace all vanilla gear up to T2.5.

Enjoy the journey.

you’re a try hard fomo type and you don’t even realize it. You will find no fulfillment at the end of the gear chase, enjoy the journey!

Trust me I know, I did the hardcore naxx stuff back in 2006 and its not worth it

Or OR you can pvp save your honor or gold and get all marshal and field marshal gear from the pvp vendor right before bc launches and youll be set til level 67

100%
I think a lot of people on the forums have completely lost perspective on what casual means.

I want to play more, I just don’t have the time right now. in 2019 I was 60 in a week or two, absolutely blasted through it.

This time I’m just too busy with stuff. It sucks, but that is casual play for adults.

Who said I was playing consistently? I said I was taking my time. I don’t even play every day. Just a couple hours a day here and there- if that, most of the last week I didn’t play at all, due to the holiday.

So yeah. Not everybody plays all day every day. Some of us do have jobs and families, and do not play consistently. Hard concept for some to grasp, I know.

I was asking legitimately, but you do you. Some of us do enjoy going “that slow”, yes. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean nobody else does. I’ve a lot of my time exploring, which I enjoy probably more than questing and leveling up. I’ve also been grabbing various flight paths that I know I’ll need later on, and have already come in quite handy. Haven’t gotten them all, but have 15 or so currently.

Meh, depends on how you like to play the game. I generally agree, but I’m also taking time to work on my professions a bit. Tailoring for bags, mostly, for myself and the AH; fishing and cooking for both gold and personal use. So it can be worth leveling some a least a little to help you get started in the game, and to save gold.

“I’m enjoying the journey the most” is just the new “Classic is harder than retail” since the latter got pretty conclusively disproven. Cool, you aren’t playing as fast as anyone else. Good for you.

It’s not a competition and I said nothing of the sort? But thanks? I guess? I’m just thoroughly enjoying the game and wanted to know if anybody else is, too. Does it bother you that some people like to take it slower or talk about taking it slower or are simply enjoying the game? I’m not quite sure where you’re coming from…

“Unlike you no-lifers, I have a job and a family. :smirk:

If its actually about the journey for you, then fine. But snide little remarks like that make your posts just like most of the posts on this topic where people loftily declare that anyone wanting to play efficiently or who is able to play more hours is somehow inferior.
