that we get ogres into the game. Blizzard answer for your crimes against the horde. While we are at it lets give the alliance jinyu. Ill expect to see a reply by a blue in 5 minutes after that I’ll just keep waiting. Balls in your court now.
Well yeah you do have a point, but some did follow Illidan and they were Night Elves before? Why not have those who are good and return back to other Night Elves?
Because psycho-Tyrande would never welcome them. Malf too. What with them siding with the Burning Legions millennia ago. Speaking as a Naga fan by the way.
Here is my personal list for AR that we should already have or get next:
Alliance:
Furbolg
Reason: The Timbermaw has a long standing relationship with the Alliance and the Night Elves in particular. The tribe of Furbolgs on the Draenei Island are also made friendly. As to capability, they are an advanced species with the capacity for tool-making and magic. They are also furry and not another human-like analog.
Murlocs
Reason: The Murloc-king has been a thing since Wrath. Murlocs also joined the fight against as well as for the Burning Legion in Legion. They are capable of tool-making and use of magic. They have also demonstrated the capability of using most “Player” classes. Most notably Priest, Mage, Hunter and Demon Hunter.
Horde:
Orges
Reason: Do I really need to type this one out?
Naga
Reason: As previously mentioned. During Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne as well as up to the Burning Crusade, the Blood Elves had partnered with the Illidari Naga and joined forces under Illidan. With the betrayal of Kael the Blood Elves have joined the Horde and thus would be a friendly face and probable support for Naga joining. They also have a particularly strong Murder-bone for the Night Elves.
I think we should already have Dragonmaw and Wildhammer. The way things went down in the Twilight Highlands was a perfect segue for them to be playable.
As for next, I vote for:
Horde - Saberon. Uses the worgen model, they’re a tribal race like most of us and a pack of them escaped AU Draeneor and settled some where in the Barrens.
Horde - Half Ogres. Uses the KT model (like Rexxar), they’re also a tribal race but as far as where they came from? I’m drawing a blank there.
I’m also drawing a blank for Alliance allied races. Maybe the Ankoan/Jinyu with the Nelf model and something that uses the Forsaken model.
Well for one thing they already have an in with the Murloc king. Also there is that whole “Naga were supporters of Queen Azshara” thing. I won’t speak for the devs but from a literary standpoint the universe would have to be ending before the Night Elves supported including the Naga. Not that they have the sole say in the matter. However it would be bad for the Alliance as a whole to ignore one of the “lead” members.
The Murlocs are merely a nuisance when left to themselves. Typically slaves of Alliance foes. That is no where near the same thing as demon and/or Old God worshiping psychos.
Valkyr could be an option except for aside from Legion almost all of our interactions with them have been with the sharp parts of our weapons. And Blizz devs have stated before that the neutral option they tried with the Pandarens was in hindsight a mistake. So that isn’t likely to occur.
Not saying no, just saying there would be more hopes to jump through with the Valkyr… That and they are another human-like derivative with a faction that has what could be referred to as tall humans, short humans, and fat humans. (Standard Human, Dwarf/Gnome, KT). I personally would like to see something actually unique for once.
And how can you not see the Furbolg as an option? They are capable of communication. Most of the ones we as players fight are ones that were made crazy because of old gods or wacked out fire-water. Genuinely curious here.
Now that I think about it, it’s kind of a little too late to add Furblogs and other races unless they’ll have a story in the future. Nagas have the most potential because for some reason we can’t simply finish off Azshara. The Orges? I don’t really know if they do but there is a chance. It’s hard to come up with something now because they’re trying to make up the lore as we go.
We’ll just probably have to wait for two more expansions to see.
They’ve done quest lines where the Tunka and Stonemaul Orge clans joined the Horde but they just… I don’t know. Vanished into the void or something? So many missed opportunities.
The best allied races for both Factions in my opinion would be,
Horde:
-Ogres: Ogres are a clear option for the horde although they were at war with orcs for many years there is also options like Rexxar, and Ogre Orc hybrid.
-Saberon: They have the same basic theme as MOST horde races being more primitive and ritualistic, they previously thrived in the same continent as the Mag’har (even if they killed each other at points)
Alliance:
-Vrykul: Vrykul add an option to the alliance similar to Kul’tiran basically being another version of a human model, although the Vrykul would add a much more bulky and powerful race the alliance is in need of. (Aesthetically and lore wise the alliance doesn’t have many races in pure strength that could stand up to Tauren, Orc, Zandalari, and Mag’har.) They have at points been against the alliance/humans but have also been on the same side depending on the faction of Vrykul.
-Ankoan: The Ankoan would add a race that fits the alliance aesthetic very well, they already have clear ties with the alliance, and have the basic class options and visual differences to make a good option for a playable character.
