It's 1:55 AM server time and I can't get a damn BC quest done because of multiboxers

playing multiple accounts is not a cancer but the fact that 90% of multi boxers use software to copy keystrokes and movement is ileagal but sadly i dont think blizzard cares after watch a 9 mage multiboxer wipe a mc group in a mater of seconds is proof, 9 arcane explosions going off in .5 of a second of each other or less is proof.

You mean like when they come in here tossing fits about being ganked and we tell them to …duh…turn Warmode off?
There are no victims here, sorry to tell you. You can CHOOSE to play something else at any time.
That you refuse to do so doesnt then allow you to claim victim status because someone else got the upper hand in this MMO.

Wrong. ESO does not.

"Multiboxing is NOT allowed in The Elder Scrolls Online in any of its forms, whether software- or hardware-based. Any accounts found to be multiboxing will be considered in violation of our Terms of Service and actioned swiftly and decisively, up to the permanent deactivation of the account along with any other associated accounts. To be clear, players are welcome to have multiple accounts. However, using hardware or software to play them all at the same time is not allowed on any ESO service.

Multiboxing is the practice of playing multiple accounts simultaneously, including, but not limited to using either hardware or software to facilitate the coordination between the accounts. This violates the intended nature of the gameplay mechanics we’ve created for ESO."

ugh…no…its not. Blizzard KNOWS how boxing works guy…and they ALLOW it. So no…its not ‘illegal’ no matter how many times you all want to insist that it is.

Im thinking that post was bait. He was probably waiting for someone to say that.

Using software to replicate your keystrokes to multiple client windows is not against the EULA. Each character is still performing a single action in response to a single button press initiated by a human.

I have been following many multi-boxing topics and the only thing I can think of that has been brought up in probably all of the topics is maybe the thoughts on automated game play?

It has been my understanding that when Acti / Blizz talks about automated play they are talking about botting in that the game plays itself and not in key cloning.

I could very well be wrong on that, but as I have said. That seems to be the understanding from people that support multi-boxing.

I rarely assume. Sometimes people are just uninformed (I’m being polite there, notice), or like making unbased generalisations. :sunglasses:

I like this guys response…

“…well, Im sorry, but you dont get to make the rules…”

You are correct, attractive gnome.

I think of ‘automated’ being like a hot water kettle. Nobody holds down the button of a kettle to boil water - you press it and go away and when it gets hot it turns off. That’s automated. It seems that a fair few anti-mboxers fall back on the ‘its automated’ argument without considering what it means.

I mean, I don’t much care for mboxing - my personal gaming attitude is that each person should play one character at a time. But as I say, that’s just me. I try not to get into the whole ‘it’s eveil and wrong’ type approach. :upside_down_face:

Setting up multiboxing takes time and effort too

Barring X time since it could be anything depending on how the inviting is done. Because if you’re on a bored channel the formation could be very quick, just like if you’re in a guild and there are people on that are not really doing anything.

How much effort is there really involved with someone writing out a few lines that they could just copy and paste anywhere?

Setting up a multi-box could be about the same in certain situations. I don’t think time always means effort, especially in this instance.

Why couldn’t this hold true for multi-boxing? Let’s assume for a moment we compare similarities for a moment. Other than the number of players involved. What would be the difference between 5 players setting aside let’s say two hours to go on a PVP spree and 1 multi-boxer playing five characters and going on the same two hours?

It has been my experience, and experiences will always differ from person to person. But if I make plans to do something, I try to make sure everything within my power that the time set aside will not be interrupted by anything. So I can fully commit myself to whatever it is that was planned.

Can’t always plan this with a PUG. But you can advertise that you are looking for people that can commit X amount of time. To hopefully ensure that this amount of time for said activity can happen.

This can also happen with multi-boxing. No one can force you to stay in a group. At least not that I’m aware of. You could team up with a multi-boxer and be like, “Hey! I just need help with this quest and that’s all.” I don’t think they are going to be like, “NO! you must stay with my help as long as I want”

I’m sure there might be someone like that out there, but couldn’t you just report the person and log off?

I think there are always options, people just might not utilize all the options available to them.

But there isnt 8 people doing it 24/7. Just stop dude. Youre stretching for a reason to justify your side of the coin.

24/7? If they never log off report them as a bot. That is a different scenario. People have to sleep eventually.

A MMO that doesn’t allow multiboxing? sign me up.

what a joke. Are you there PLAYING 24/7 WATCHING them?
No…youre not. So your exaggerating. And theres only ONE reason for your side to have to exaggerate.
and please…are you telling us to believe that a human player isnt sleeping, lol?
If you suspect a bot…REPORT.
If its not a bot, youre just out of luck.
It really is that simple.
This game is about COMPETING for resources.
5 characters is 5 characters is 5 characters…the number of players behind them isnt relevant. They can do the same thing in game as 5 characters regardless of the player count.

Reminds me, I found the worst multi boxer I’ve ever seen the other night.

He was doing the horde bfa into scenario, running 3 druids.

He couldn’t kill anything, kept getting stuck on terrain, and on corners. It was hilarious.

primal lifes are farmable from bog lords in zangarmarsh, especially if you’re an herbalist as you can skin the bog lord and have a greater chance of a mote of life.

primal waters - motes of water, from water elementals in steamvault in zangarmarsh or from water elementals in bodies of water in nagrand.

primal air, primal shadow and primal earth from elementals out by the spirit fields

Multiboxing bots do ruin the game. I had issues completing a few quests on an alt in Legion, because of the usual 20 Druids stacked on top of each other, or strategically spread apart, tagging mobs as fast as they can spawn.
