Itemization in WoW Classic

The addons that they broke like decursive and healbot really aren’t that big of a deal.

Having things like Weakauras, proper threat meters, and in depth boss mods along with years of knowledge about this version are just going to cause everything to get destroyed in lightspeed.

Perfect! Items from later patches should come later in the content release schedule, and items that were originally incorrectly designed should start in their polished fixed form. Seems like Blizzard is actually taking Classic seriously and doing a great job!

Bro automating your character on one button is more broken than seeing a Weak aura icon.

Oh you mean that one that tells me to step out of the painfully obvious pool of fire? Yeah that’s just going to make it too easy.

Also I’m pretty sure deadly boss mods or something similar existed in vanilla. I know for sure they had “proper threat meters” in vanilla. I used one.

Good. I’m against progressive itemization because all it means is that casters are gimped during the leveling process. str and agi increase melee/hunter damage. int only increases mana pool and very slightly crit chance - less than agi. It also means you won’t need to hold on to certain items which become useful later on but for now aren’t so great.

I’ve leveled on progressive servers. Not having quests in thorium point or getting a weak Seal of Wrynn is not the best experience.

This would be by far the best solution if this community wasn’t so committed to this fake-100% blizzlike. Now we are going to go from level 60 5-mans/MC/BWL/Ony being pretty-easy to Looking for Raid/faceroll easy.

Just do a stats only tuning pass for crying out loud to get the early pve content on par with the original blizzlike difficulty…

“Gee boys, I wonder if 1.12 talents and buffed itemization will result in blizzlike difficulty? probably not eh? Maybe we should buff the content a little to get it on par with blizzlike difficulty?”

Blizzlike Croud: “NO!!! REEEE MUH BLIZZLIKE!!!”

/doublefacepalm

Hopefully Blizzard, at minimum, stealth buffs bosses by tweaking resistance/dodge/parry/armor levels, while increasing boss spell damage a bit to account for everyone having nearly twice the HP pools…

Awesome, I like it! All my wowhead builds will still work then.

I really like what the Classic WoW dev team is doing, it feels like a completely different developer compared to BfA.

Can I get some specifics of blue pieces being overpowered for phase 3? I must admit, I only have memorized the warlock pieces. The only pieces for us worth using would be the rank 10 head and shoulder pieces, which seems perfectly balanced as a hardcore warlock would realistically get access to them in the middle of phase 3, where there exists Mish’undare and Mantle of the Blackwing Cabal.

For which classes do those pieces break BWL?

Bigwigs did, but it was very basic.

Good update, figured as much.

not much different then today where we have addons that tell us what button to press to do our rotation.

Only one that really got hit hard was Healbot’s rank picking, decursive just one from pressing one button to having to pick a square.

Accept that it is completely different. Literally one button is all you need, and a SuperMacro script.

I am very happy to hear the design direction being taken, and I’m glad items will be added into the game progressively.

On the subject of itemization, a lot of fans realistically expected at least 1 patch to re itemize gear, namely the AQ content phase when a lot of new catchup gear is added.

Personally I would like this to be considered. Just like how the original loot sharing and original 4 phases plans were tweaked, I’d like to see one patch of re itemization so that we do not start out with all items in 1.12 versions.

I am not advocating for all iterations of an item to be present, but the power of certain items needs to be considered.

Yeah it would be nice to get confirmation on this.

Imo they should stay for a phase or so and then leave again. I’ve also seen others say leave them in but at a higher gold cost than normal epic mounts.

Except not really, and when you macro something like that there’s no room to change things if need be. Most people did not macro (like that) in vanilla.

It was mostly “pvp ultra warrior one shot kill lol” from the likes of Swifty

Thank you for the update to answer that question and take all the discussion off the table. Much appreciated!

I take it you have never used SuperMacro.

I predict Classic not starting until the end of summer or in November. Just you watch.

No, because it was not as popular in vanilla as you claim it to be.

Right so you don’t know what you are talking about. I get it.
