Itemization in WoW Classic

What about pre armor-less epic mounts from 1.4??? Will we be able to obtain those?

You speak of R13 and R14 like everyone can just go out and get them… it’s not that simple, very few people will have these things.

Thank you mate! Looking forward to starting our guild and playing !

That’s actually such a good point I never considered… I also think the number of people getting “OP” items in their final form will not be as wide-spread or game-changing as some naysayers think.

That’s what you think. I’ve forgotten everything!

Nice so you’re going to have the final state of PVP items which is FULL BIS aq40+ gear obtainable before bwl, unreplaceable chest from brd until aq40, and a naxx version or Bonereavers edge because that’s what the developers intended

Very nice

An addon called KTM, also rule of thumb don’t go ham until 3 sunders

This is so true. Even after all these years, I can probably navigate MC and BWL in my sleep. AQ40 would still feel New to me though, didn’t spend much time there… only saw a few Naxx bosses so that’s new to me mostly…

I was hoping for progressive itemization, but I know full well the development issues and delays that would cause. I’m glad you guys are keeping your eyes on the ball.

Thanks for the update, most of us are greatful for each blue post.

Yep. Quite unfortunate.

You speak of this as it’s what everyone is going to have … but fail to see how 1.12 Rank 7-10 is fairly easily obtainable gear in comparison that has the same issue as R14, it’s overpowered for the phase, for up to AQ. It’s not all about R14 gear dude.

As always thank you for the updates.

Release Date…?

This is just ignorant to say, most people are pretty savvy and will know what to get

Thank you for the update! Looking forward for the next one (beta when? xD).

The person I replied to was specifically talking R13 and R14, hence the post.

But in all actuality it doesn’t matter to me, MC, BWL, AQ they were all going to fall over anyway, they will never have the difficulty they had back then.

The biggest thing is… we have the new API since it’s built on the new engine, we will have access to addons now that we didn’t even DREAM of in vanilla, that alone will completely destroy the game for people who want the “authentic experience”

Will probably upset the purest but as someone who has never played vanilla I’m kind of happy that I don’t need to learn the 2 year history of every single item in the game to know if I should keep something or scrap it.

The modern API is the bottom of the barrel of things to be concerned about. Infact the previous API in vanilla was way more powerful.

On the contrary, we won’t have the add-ons that we can only dream of in retail. Vanilla allowed for a lot of things in add-ons that it shouldn’t; things which let you automate a lot of things that shouldn’t be automated.

Having the newer system will disallow those.

I understand the logic about raid progression and itemization, but the decision about AV is a huge mistake.

Let me explain with equal logic and I hope that the CMs show it to devs:

AV 1.12 is very similar to what we have today. The main differences are:
• Raid was 40men wide
• No resources

When AV 1.12 came out, with an environment extremely easy to beat, it caused a problem with bots and AFKers. Most players don’t have PvP guilds and started to use AV as their main resource for honor per hour farming.

It encouraged players to use bot and other third part programs to sit idle at the caves waiting for the match to end. It wasn’t rare to have matches where we had close to 30 AFKers at the caves.

Reporting players wasn’t enough. Most players would just run toward a group of the opposite faction to suicide and remove the debuff as soon as the countdown began.

Since the environment was too easy to beat, most of the time that the debuff hit the players, there were already players from the opposite faction rushing their final base, making it too easy to clear the debuff in time.

The insertion of resource system and reduction of raid size was made to fight it, leading the background to what we have today (and the community do NOT want for classic).

A far better decision would be to use AV 1.8, which is already nerfed, but at least was still alive and fun to players. 1.12 is the patch that killed Alterac Valley.

Please, Blizzard. Reconsider this decision.

The biggest impact this has is on rank 14 gear; however to be fair that is a very small part of the community. Not to say that it wont affect the rest of us, but it wont have as big of an impact as something like sharding for example.

Just be prepared to see some ppl running through most of classic with rank 14 honor gear and not replacing it till naxx. At least we know pvp will be big in classic…as that will be “the gear to get,” even more so than the most recent raid tier.

All that being said, thanks for the update
