Does anyone know how item level is calculated in cata classic? I was 327 - had a mace drop that was 333 when I was using a 316 dagger and now it says my item lvl is 308…I was so excited to start running heroics. Playing a priest.
your item level it checks for is counted by your highest possible ilvl including items in your bags
IE: if you had a 333 strength trinket you randomly won on a greed and vendor it while youre wearing your 316 agi trinkets then your ilvl will go down
same applies for rings, neck, cloak, weapons, etc, if you can theoretically wear it, your “ilvl” as the dungeon finder sees it will increase.
basically dont vendor high ilvl gear even if you won’t wear it if you want to get into heroics until your gear you’re wearing is high enough on its own
