Item Level Brackets

How would you feel if they added a BG bracket for normal raid and below geared players, and another for heroic raid+ geared players only for end game PvP?

BGs would be much more balanced this way. They’d have to make some way so heroic+ geared players couldn’t just take off one piece of gear and fall into the lower ilvl bracket.

Might increase queue times but I’d be willing to sacrifice a little time to be matched a little more evenly.

BGs would be closer to evenly matched rather than a place where the overgeared go to dunk on noobs.

If horde epic queues got any longer, SL would be on its first major patch by the time you were able to do 20 epics.

No. Will never happen.

Ok, so sacrifice your time to get better gear.

It wouldn’t even matter if I got better geared if half my team is still getting clubbed on the head with gear.

If they insist on keeping PVE gear dominating PVP I’d rather just see item scaling come back like it was in a previous expansion. Before any of that is done though I feel like Blizzard should really crack down on the botting issue that every bracket - including max level has.

Shambeefieus, No, developers need to do right by the players. Conquest gear and conquest gear upgrades not gated behind rating. Everyone in PvP has the same item level.

Fantastic!!! I would make a Twink with Blue gear, mythic trinkets and all sockets and dominate. It would be fun to have Max level Twink brackets since we really miss Twinking in this RPG.

Then depending on mood I could Que for Twink Max Level BGs or Normal. Sounds really fun :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So maybe they should cap ilvl, like scale gear down that’s over normal raid ilvl also so people can’t cheat the system.

There aren’t enough people playing at this point. We already have 10-15 minute q times. They need to fix the game so people come back instead of trying to cover up the crappy gearing systems. Just bring back Resil, its the only way.

players would gimp their toons on purpose to stay in the lower ilevel bracket. its funny that for the most part is a 50 ilevel difference between “geared” and not. 50 ilevels somehow doubles their hit point pool? yikes. maybe the “fix” should have been scale back corruptions so they only add in 5% of your overall damage. or like with mythic antorus trinkets at 110 they get scaled back in bg’s.
waiting for a tentacle proc isnt pvp and one of the main reasons partysync in 111-119 is so popular. no garbage corruption stacking on pve clicking trash players.

It wouldn’t matter if they gimped themselves or not, any item over normal raid ilvl would be scaled down. So they couldn’t just remove one piece and be just as effective.

There isn’t any cheating the system. This game is based on Gear and the reason most of us play an RPG game is to have a “Gear Advantage” over the other players. That is why we do casual BGs to ROFL stomp someone and global people with Zerker/Potion buffs.

We are all Twinks and the purpose of our characters is to Min/Max gear to give us an advantage with a build. Doesn’t matter the level or bracket the bottom line is as a player we want an advantage and that is 100% fair and part of an RPG.

“If you find yourself in a fair fight…then your tactics sucks”

I think the better question players should be asking themselves is “How can they find that advantage” within the game. You should be looking for it!

If you want to max out your gear then it sounds like the heroic+ bracket would be for you. Just be prepared to fight other people at, or near max ilvl.

I want to Max out my gear to get a Gear advantage over another player. So I would lower gear to fit into the lower bracket to Twink with some BiS items, enchants, gems and rack up KBs for fun. Running up KBs is very enjoyable and finding an advantage is why we log into an RPG game.

With that said when I want a equal gear fight I just Que for competitive PvP Arena/RBGs and go against the top geared. We already have a system in place with an MMR and making Team comp for competitive PvP.

Random BGs aren’t supposed to be competitive it’s literally impossible. There are too many random variables and people are doing Random/Casual BGs to global the other players for giggles in their free time.

Again the question players should be asking themselves and doing in an RPG is…

Casual PvP especially BGs is supposed to be fun… not balanced or competitive.

Gear should always have a huge impact and is the core aspect of this game. If Gear doesn’t matter or give a big advantage there just is no reason to play WoW.

Lol do you play casual BGs just to dunk on fresh 120s and casual geared players? Nice…

You do understand what RPG games are right? Games that are based on attaining a gear advantage. Where you need Gear to be competitive. If you don’t like gear advantages you shouldn’t be playing RPGs that is just as simple as that.

This is my statement on who mainly does BGs and why thread.

Wanting Gear brackets is just people not wanting to participate in the core aspect of the game. Bottom line you deserve to get globaled until you get gear to be competitive. If I get 1 shot I understand that I most likely don’t have the gear to compete. The simple solution is get better gear and get better at the game and that is why I love RPGs.

Anyways… I’m not gonna be playing end game PvP until they make it more balanced. Would rather twink at 20, soon to be 10 I think, and for free where the majority are other twinks. There’s not nearly as wide of a power gap for gear. It’s mostly just OP specs that are the problem there.

End game PvP is what PvP is balanced around though. End game PvP is the only balanced PvP in World of Warcraft. This game is balanced around BiS gear and why when we have Tournaments for Esports there is a Tournament Realm where the players have access to all the gear to compete.

On live the reason we play is to attain that gear. It’s our job to enjoy getting powerful items and BiS so we can eventually compete in a fair balanced PvP environment at End Game.

So you are wrong in you assessment.

I can assure you the RBGs and Arena last night at 2400MMR were very competitive and the most balanced. That is your End Game PvP.

You just want Gear to not matter which isn’t what WoW or RPGs are about. You are also trying to make casual BGs competitive and we already have competitive PvP in Arena/RBGs.

It’s more balanced in the sense that anyone can get the ilvl cap fairly quickly and easily. There’s just a few OP specs. And there are still OP specs at end game as well.

There will always be OP specs that is part of the game. The Devs need to do a better job to make sure every spec feels OP though. Which is why people do casual BGs…They want to feel OP. They want to win 1vs 3…It’s really fun.

You really aren’t making any compelling arguments. You just sound like you don’t like RPG games (which is fine) just I don’t understand why you play them honestly.
