It was nice knowing you WM

So you say the factions are “roughly equal” in numbers. Are you counting the 1000’s of level one alliance alts in Goldshire? Come back with the numbers when you calculate how many active level 120 Alliance VS how many active level 120 Horde. Alliance has less numbers, but only Blizz knows exactly.

If it is really 4 to 1 as mentioned in here, why would one bother turning it on. I am guessing you end up with horde doing the same thing as alliance with fp and corpse camping.
Warmode would work if it was a 1 to 1 faction split and each group can fp camp each others main landing zones with a few who want wpvp lurking around hunting each other.

If it was really 4v1 then the buff would not only be a 5% difference.

The bribe worked to get Alliance to turn warmode on, and the to get horde that only wanted the bonus but no fight to turn it off. Now, I am seeing a bunch of but but but but going on because it is no longer 30%.

That was kind of my point without typing all that on my phone before I got home.

Perhaps it is time to turn the xp buff off for both groups. Giving candy to one side or the other to participate is silly. Were all the pvp servers mostly horde?

Good riddance. They should never have included a bonus to begin with, the talents should be enough to make up for the time lost PvPing.

The sharding system is too bad to make World PvP even remotely interesting, and by now it’s going to be a landslide either way, because either you get free bonuses and it’s worth having it on, or you don’t and therefore it’s not worth having it on. Horde didn’t have it on on nearly 100% of their population at first, it’s only as they started learning they had the advantage that it snowballed into it.

Ways to make World PvP relevant: remove ALL non-pvp incentives on warmode; FIX the shards so that you have disorganized solo shards and organized group shards, one should never meet the other. There, now only real World PvPers will have it on, and the sharding will make sure most fights will be fair enough that neither side will feel like turning it off, reducing the odds of a snowball effect.

I choose “No one to fight against.”

If you can’t click WM on without getting crutch-gear, then I don’t really want you in WM.

I’m not into catering to people who don’t turn it on for what it’s intended for until they get some huge advatange.

I agree that alliance are suffering from an issue, but that is due to player base behavior. There’s no easy way to fix this without blowing up factions and letting people truly have a world of PvP where you can attack anyone outside of your party/raid.

Or maybe have it that the faction outnumbered are stronger on their own island. Maybe to have at least have some protection at home base.

I’m all for that (no one to fight against) and I’d prefer it that way as well, however there were tons of horde crying when they had no one to fight against. Talk to your faction and tell them to accept it.

There were only spikes of alliance in WM. Once they finished the quest, they turned it back off.

It never should have rewarded gear in the first place (or even the extra experience, AP, and reputation for that matter). It’s a mode strictly for fun. Either turn it on or don’t. If the participation is low or one sided, then so be it.

Yeah, you’re only making a fool of yourself with this type of talk. Trying to show how childish someone is by acting a child yourself doesn’t really work in your favor. That goes for everyone else that has to resort to such lowbrow insults to make their point, be they Horde or Alliance posters.

Hey, Blizzard came up with the incentive, you have to expect people to take advantage of it. The real problem is that most people who PVP do not want to be outnumbered, so they choose the side with the numbers. So if you want to PVP and not be outnumbered, choose Horde. So yes, Horde is full of people who only PVP because they outnumber their oponents.

Because you are a child. You are an entitled angry little child who throws a fit every time you have to actually fight in war mode when the factions are anywhere close to balanced.

Where were you for the last 5 months while the factions were grossly imbalanced in war mode? You were in war mode being a pathetic loser hiding behind a raid of 39 other horde players because that’s probably the only way most of you would ever survive in war mode.

You had one rough week with war mode on? You outnumbered the alliance last week. And you got stomped. You were beaten down so hard by those alliance groups farming you for AOO weren’t you? That’s what War Mode is always like for alliance. You are always outnumbered. there’s no babysitter holding our hand out there. We actively organized into groups to hunt you down even though you outnumber us. All 6 of my 120s got a piece of 400 gear last week and 4 of them got the horde slayer title. Your faction is actually pretty awful at world pvp if thats how badly we were beating you and you still outnumbered us. But go ahead. Cry on the forums all week. The incentive is gone and so are most of the alliance palyers. Problem solved.

Looks like 2 players are getting vacations!!! Enjoy them cuz your not going to be on here for quite a long time.

This. I turned on wm at 30% buff launch and realized all it meant was that I’d get to kill an obnoxious, poorly geared but surprisingly arrogant horde (usually an undead for some reason) while trying to do my already stale world quests. Sometimes they would throw a hissy fit and look now it’s 10 on 1! Such fun much thrill. Now a 10 minute quest is a 30 minute. Yeah I could get buddies and pick fights but at that point why not just do bgs?

Warmode has a very specific player type in mind, but it’s the devs new toy and they want to make everyone play with it, so let’s bribe people!

Also can we not forget that alliance had complained and quit wm en masse for a good solid 2-3 month and it wasn’t until horde players started complaining that there were no alliance to kill that a week later 30% was announced?

I don’t turn warmode on, you adorable angry little gnome, so your long and rambling dissertation doesn’t apply in the slightest to me. But at least you aren’t being as snarky and insulting as much as you have been, so I guess there’s that. :cookie:

My point: warmode shouldn’t have ever rewarded anything extra. WPvP has always been something just for fun with no extras rewarded for doing it (aside from the honor), and it should have stayed that way. Argue against that if you’re going to quote me, don’t go off on tangents this time if you please.

Fine. Turn it off. I’m not turning mine back on again unless the Horde gets a turn at high level gear as a reward. I’ll just wait.

Wpvp waste of time, you can’t force players to do it. The only way is to make it rewarding. Because right now the devs aren’t gonna try to fix the faction imbalances. But instead apply a bandaid fix like this quest. When zandalar trolls release. I am sure alliance will permantely have the quest each week. The troll racials are op. Horde might as well get use to it because they will never get the quest or the bonus.

Why? People wanted the removal of PvP servers. They had an opportunity to take on the WPvP dynamic and make it 10x better with PvP World Quests, Siege battles, Base / Town / City attacks and defenses, and many other things. Warmode fails because they didn’t really think of how they could change up the WPvP scene to make it feel like an actual war.

Then tie in a “War Effort” currency that could allow you to purchase things like mounts, gear / xmog, tabards, and many other things.

First of all, you are a wretched Blood Elf and therefore your opinion on anything whatsoever is null and void. So hush.

Secondly, Alliance well proved that if you give them an actual reason to turn on WM – that ‘welfare payment’ as you like to call it – then they will toggle that WM button and work together to collaborate to make life Hell for any flagged Horde in the world.

Alliance rolled through you like the gates of Mogu’shan – for a welfare payment. But keep bringing it up as if you aren’t the one looking derpy.
